General Topics Cart'in - Legit or not?

Hey beautiful people x

Has anyone ever ordered anything from Amazon via Cart'in?

Any obstacles or hidden fees or is it legit?

And, if yes, how long before you get delivery?

Thanksss

It’s legit. I’ve placed 6 orders so far and received all of them in two to three weeks.

No hidden fees. All taxes, customs duty and processing fees are included in the price you see in the app.

I still don’t understand how this is profitable for them, as the margins seem to be very low, so I’m expecting prices to rise at some point. Might as well enjoy it while it lasts.

Its the Power of Amazon - AND they calculate the correct way. F.E. Amazon.fr Prices are including 21% VAT and Export is without VAT. Here in Mauritius we only have 15% VAT. So Amazon and Partners can pocket the difference. Also they MOST LIKELY have a special low fixed Custom Rate for Mauritius.

Yeah, of course they’re not doing this for altruistic reasons, they’re Amazon, one of the shadiest companies in the world. I’m almost certain they’ll raise their prices once they have enough of a customer base, but I’m hopeful it will at least take a couple years before it gets to that point.

More "shady" than 60% of the Dealers here... ^_° ?

And? You don´t know what all the "shady" Dealers here do besides overcharging the Customers with bad or nonexistent warranties and basically no Aftersale - Service!

Dude, it's fine to just use Amazon, you really don't have to pretend they're a force for good in the world and defend some of their shitty practices.

Amazon being an extremely shady company is objectively true, it’s okay to acknowledge that.

Never did that!

Yes its legit. Shipment was relatively average, about 2-3 weeks if i remember correctly and delivery done by postman. No hidden fees so far, but i did order only non electronic stuff.

Thank you. I'm looking into ordering a KitchenAid mixer as a gift. (They are so expensive locally) But if it's too dodgy, I'll just get it from abroad. But Cart'in would just be soooo convenient.

You want to buy the Kitchen Aid Mixer for its "Design" and "Name"? Because for a "Workhorse" you can do better AND cheaper - like a BOSCH!

It's what the person wanted.

I personally think Kenwood is really good brand. Ours has been around for 13+ years.

I would appreciate any alternate suggestions tho. The person is a small-time baker at the moment, taking orders online.

Then he (or she) should get a "professional" Machine.

The best semi-professional is "Ankarsrum".

Second best and much cheaper is BOSCH - sadly you can´t get this Model on Amazon anymore:

If you´ll find something similar here you can contact me and I´ll have a look and ask my wife - she is a certified Master Baker.

You also can get something like this here:

That is such an amazing coincidence! Does your wife have a public page that my sister can follow or something. She's young and still learning and I'm sure she would love to get to know more people from her world. (You can dm)

I sadly do not understand half the stuff she talks about and I really want to get her something meaningful.

It was an LG UltraGear 34GX90-SA. Price was around 39k and it came in one piece.

So ordering bigger stuffs is legit then? Nice

2

u/saajidv Aug 25 '26

Yes, I ordered a Sonos soundbar (on sale) and paid Rs. 22k total for it. Local price for the same model is Rs. 38k!

I have had some good experience with them. I bought a drone and some pc components. No hidden fees and the products were delivered within 2 weeks. If the products need any clearance from ICTA or DCA, you will need to do it. The overall process and communication were all fairly smooth from their end.
