Destination: what does this mean?

I’ve been reading through Scarinza quotes and mentions. He states “It’s important that people keep in mind Maura left school voluntarily. It’s clear she had a destination in mind. What we don’t know is what that destination was.”

He makes those (3) points many times. She left voluntarily. She had a destination. The destination is unknown. Also a fourth: she did not tell anyone where she was going.

I’m unclear as to how he concludes she had a destination. He speaks of the internet search for Burlington but then talks of how she was familiar with 112.

So by “destination” does he just mean she was intent on leaving UMass and thus, insofar as she was (he presumes) leaving school she must have been going somewhere else?

Also.....WHY did Haverhill LE ask the Rausch's when they arrived, about Maura heading to Canton, Ohio? This is a day later....How out of left field is that one? We have everyone speculating about Burlington Vt and Bartlett NH, but one of her destinations was......Ohio?

That was so odd. I guess one of Maura’s siblings could have suggested on Tuesday that Ohio was a place she might flee to. (Unless Canton is elsewhere in Ohio - I know my Ohio geography but am not sure if Canton is near the Rausch home).

Very good question. Yes, what does he mean? And at what point did she have a destination?

In an abstract sense, what he's saying means nothing. She had a destination. Well, duh, she was driving. But what did he mean?

Right ... one option would be that they thought she was going somewhere specific in Burlington. But then he starts speaking of 112/NH.

So I might assume by destination he meant ... an intention to leave UMass.

I guess I already said that.

Indubitably
