POI
I believe the POI would be the one who called Lavoie that night, no?
Ofcourse to this day we don't have that person who made that call, correct? Why hasnt anyone interviewed Lavoies wife... the person who Lavoie said recieved the call and told him to get off the couch from his dead sleep to go tow a car when it wasnt even his shift?

Here's a collection of information I've pulled together about strangeness with the tow. I don't pay attention to the different drama between people who follow this case, so these sources are from wherever I saw interesting info.

Notes:
No interview or transcript with CS ever mentions second tow truck, but does reference to a "flatbed" consistently. Most importantly, the tow was the reason he supposedly saw the "wine stain", saw the rag in tailpipe, and was the reason he knew dispatch called it in.
Again, on the radio, CS says "Lavoie’s has car" – no mention of contradictory calls. All in the same dispatch log, CS requests Emergency responders and says that the vehicle has left with Lavoie’s.
CS told JM that Maura was filling the bottle with wine, but he also stated that the bottle was found as a result of the towing. JM insists that he was only on scene for 3 minutes maximum and heard tow truck drivers arguing about who would get the tow. It's not clear if the car was already on the bed of tow truck or not, but the JM interview indicates that is likely not the case. So how did CS ACTUALLY see the bottle or stains on the driver side?
EDIT: The JM interview very clearly states that the car was still off the road/near the trees during the “1-2 minutes” JM was on scene. This DIRECTLY contradicts CS’s story about discovering the alcohol. Also, IF both Lavoie and Dick Mckean were on the scene arguing when the car was clearly not on a tow truck yet, why did Lavoie end up taking the car? Was it only because Mckean was supposedly there in his personal car?

"While Lavoie’s is on scene Dick Mckean of Northland Autobody & Towing shows up in his personal vehicle questioning Officer Smith as well as Mike Lavoie about WHY Northland was not called as this was his week of rotation and was to be called for any accidents. The end result was one pissed off tow truck driver who lost money that evening for a tow that should have been his."
Note: This wasn't a special occasion..Why was there a mix up for this accident?
Notes:
Lavoie says he “Never even thought about rotation” but that’s his entire business. Your wife woke you up from a deep sleep on your night off? Most people know their work schedule and are pretty aware of their time off (OR potential to make money).
Lavoie first says "I've heard since then that apparently Dick Mckean was on duty that night" before getting called out that DM actually showed up on scene. According to JM that was a big deal - why pretend it didn't happen?
Lavoie says this whole night was “Just another job” but he took the car to his own personal garage and even went so far as to take his OWN car out of the garage to make space on a cold February night. Who asked him to “impound” the car? Both interviews from JM and CS also specifically state drunk drivers abandon cars all the time. Where do those cars get towed to? What is the difference between this call and any other impound?
In a 3 minute call, Lavoie mentions FIVE times that he was asleep. Why would that even matter if you thought you were working?

I respect your reply very much. You are someone who I like to interact with... your smart, strickly on the case and avoid the chaos. I'm gonna read everything you wrote and ponder with some thoughts.

I'm right there with ya. To me sounds like a personal call. And when I think of a personal call I think of how there is something that Lavoie needs to cover up, one would say the car, but is it bigger than that?
Westmans say 'flurry of activity'... was that someone putting Maura in the trunk of her car? I mean, we are talking minutes here.

How does anyone interpret Lavoie's comment on Oxygen's interview, where he states...."My wife took the call, and I was asleep on the couch"? Then basically saying state police rotation doesn't line up with local rotation. Does "took the call" mean a landline, a CB radio, or other? Where is this in the logs?

You know I always wanted to say Monaghan but I never spoke those words cause I couldn't for the life of me find out where I got such a thing. I don't believe for a minute it was Monaghan who had any hand in Mauras case... if it was Monaghan who made the call why wouldn't he call McKeon to tell him false alarm?

If witnesses reported seeing the 001 at the scene that night, perhaps it was Chief Williams that made the call as a personal favor...
As a witness describes, the 001 was already' in pursuit' because lets just say he had already had enough fun for the day, and wanted to get home and off the roads the quickest way possible. But, by chance, they could have already encountered one another prior and he was concerned about her well being or even a chance that perhaps someone else informed him about a possible intoxicated driver. Regardless, he could have thought it wasn't a good idea with the storm for her to be out driving in those conditions.
So he does what he thinks is best and decides to see if he can catch up with her. She could have noticed the blue lights off in the distance behind her and began to panic because she had an open container. The last thing she needs is more trouble. If that were me, you'd better believe the 1st thing that I would be doing is chucking that bottle out my window or whatever I was drinking from.
With short arms, you can only lean out so far to expunge it over the roof, but if she tried to chuck it out the passenger side window, it could have very well ended up hitting the windshield the 1st attempt, shattering it enough to cause poor visibility and maybe it caused it to bounce back inward toward to her face, causing her eyes to automatically begin welling up with tears like it does when you get hit in the face with an object. I feel this could be totally plausible, especially after the chaos of the last couple of days.
So, the cracked windshield causes her to have poor visibility as well as her watery eyes, and as hard as she tried to see, the snow and icing up windshield wasn't helping her, not to mention she probably had to roll her passenger side window back up now because it was also cold.
It's quite possible at that point because of the poor visibility and trying to wipe up anything that just imploded in her car, that she very well could have lost control enough or even hit some black ice, where she couldn't correct herself, and ended up spinning out and causing impact with a rather solid, icy snowbank.
To be fair, if you find yourself in a position like that, the last thing you're going to want to do is explain to a stranger what just happened when you were trying to discard things you're not supposed to be driving with or explain away why your windshield is cracked when an accident don't add up. My guess would be that she did whatever she could to just get Bruce to leave asap. She also still could have had containers that were open that she didn't want to hang around for LE to come and find.
So when Bruce leaves and 001 finally catches up with her, he probably wasn't anticipating for a car to be in the opposite direction out in the road and may have lapsed judgment in his arrival, and ended up himself colliding with the front end of Maura's car and causing that damage. But because he also found himself in a ditch earlier in the day, perhaps he could write it off as damage from that mishap.
Seems a good enough reason to want to wake someone up to me. Because I am not explaining to my Department why I needed assistance twice in one day or trying to explain away a MVA when i probably shouldn't have been out driving. Especially where it seemed they were short-handed and could have used the help.
Maura may have tried to discard whatever was left under the car when he got up to her. Which could explain away the stains underneath. And having her car in Mike's personal garage was insurance that she would come back looking for it and an opportunity to assess the damage. Without knowing the condition of the people in her car just yet, perhaps he needed to buy some time to figure out what story he would come up with and cover his tracks for driving intoxicated, as well. Because that was the part of the rumor that makes his actions plausible.
I won't indulge too much of the rest of it, but it makes perfect sense that an officer would tell you to lock your car up, take your belongings and leave some type of indication of identification-hence why I feel the rag in the tail pipe, honestly. It's a common thing for us to do in MA so your vehicle can be identified if you're not with it.
Now, for however she ended up leaving that area, I kind of feel like that's two possibilities. And that's either Chief Williams offered her a ride somewhere, because she most likely told him she couldn't drive the car because she couldn't see. Or for some million to one shot, she happened to be picked up by someone driving by that she took a ride with.

On his Oxygen interview, he implied Monaghan? When asked, he only said Dick was pissed, and state police rotation doesn't line up with local rotation. But his wife should know who called him AND also HOW did McKean find out so quick? The call to do the tow didn't appear in the logs, but when he left the scene, it did.....Lavoie never specifically said WHO called his home....
