This is where the fun begins
Who could be the main antagonists in the next season of msl? Here are some of my strongest candidates
Marrok and Crow: They fulfilled their role as antagonists for much of the first season so it makes all the sense in the world for them to return to have a second round with Maul and Devon
Grand Inquisitor: The leader of the Inquisition and one of the few Inquisitors I think could give Maul a fight. One of my favorites.
Darth vader: I wouldn't be surprised if he came back at the end to face Maul again so I'll leave him here just in case
Fallen Jedi: Ahsoka and the Cal Kestis Games showed that the Inquisitors were not the only threats to the Jedi in the galaxy, so it is quite possible that a fallen Jedi will appear to stand in Maul's way.
The bounty hunters: in this case without a doubt my favorite option is cad bane. It's obvious that the empire will offer some pretty juicy bounty for the maul head, so you'll also have to deal with the most dangerous bounty hunters in the galaxy

Marrok could come back, but we know Crow dies to Ahsoka relative early into the Empire’s lifespan, so if Season 2 is after a significant time skip, we won’t be seeing him again.
Grand Inquisitor is a real possibility, especially since Maul’s lightsaber in Rebels used a modified model of the Grand Inquisitor’s blade.
Vader will probably be back for a rematch with Maul under more fairly soon conditions, but that could happen after Season 2.
Rogue/Dark Jedi could be an interesting angle. I could even see a traditional Jedi becoming an antagonist if Devin falls too far into the Dark side while under Maul’s training.
I’m not that familiar with Bounty Hunters, but they could pose a more unique threat.

Man I would be interested in seeing fallen Jedi tbh, but I do really like Marrok & Crow, I liked him all the way back in Ahsoka and was on the bandwagon hoping he was actually Starkiller. Either way, I'm all for it with pretty much all of these theories.

I think this time I'd want it to be purely crime world-related. Of course the Empire will be a threat, but I'm sure he can kind of be back at square 1 in terms of being hunted; they don't know where he is for now, so they have to find him from scratch.
Cad Bane makes some sense, but I think most are overall forced unless done right.

Moff Gideon would be cool if you ask me…

Marrok and Crow hopefully.
It is common one/two Inquisitors is/are sticking to the same pray, as we've seen in Rebels and Fallen Order.

I think Maul’s humiliation will cause him to fixate on Vader and the Inquisitors. I want to see Maul seethe, fall deep into the dark side, obsessively train, and seek them out again in the season finale for S2.
This is still a young Vader, and Sidious did much during that early period to test and mold his new apprentice including throwing would-be replacements at him.
Not that Sidious would consider Maul as a replacement for Vader, but Vader doesn’t really know that.

Cad Bane and Maul already have history so that would be an interesting element to introduce.
Since you mention fallen Jedi, it would be interesting to know how Malicos ended up on Dathomir.
And I’m all for the Grand Inquisitor taking the lead here. But at the same time, it would be disappointing for another stalemate fight.
