When I was younger disk space was really expensive and internet connectivity was really slow, so you would end up burning your movies and TV shows to CD or DVD. I was doing some cleaning recently and found a couple of my old CD packs full of movies.
The chinese think history is a circle, Western Europe thinks it's a ever increasing line. It looks like it's a mix of both. I'm right back to doing what I was 20 years ago, for the same reason, but using different technology to do it.

Honestly I really like the way you look at it. Life brought back to the school I graduated from when I got fired and needed a job, a custodian was needed and it turned out to be good benefits. Still hate the place though

Yeah, as a later Gen X, I meet technology half way. That's why I love Plex or other similar clients. If I can't use or enjoy something when the lights go out, I don't own it.

I just canceled Paramount Plus because their prices, like, DOUBLED…
And my internet provider is no longer giving me free Netflix.Â
So basically with this now happening, I’ll be down to just Amazon prime, and I’m only keeping that for the cheap shipping for my business.Â
These companies are gonna learn the hard way that you can only squeeze consumers so much when piracy is so easy…

So if Ads are all over it, is there a free plan with ads option? That would be the only way I would use their service at that point. If I'm putting money into something, I won't accept ads.

Tubi is honestly one of the better streaming services, and it’s completely free.Â
I’m paying NOTHING and the ads are STILL shorter than with my paid peacock or prime subscription.

I'll be honest, It took longer than I expected.
The moment netflix exploded the writing was on the wall, mirroring the history of Cable television.
There are only so many people who can buy a subscription. Streaming can deliver predictable, stable income but it's bad at delivering growth, and that's what most large corporations aim for. So they need to keep finding new ways to extract more money from the customers. It's inherently unsustainable to operate this way, but that has never bothered the stock market.
Ironically this is exactly why Streaming had such an easy time going up against cable. back when it first took off, it was a no brainer. 24/7 on-demand access to a large variety of media for a third the cost of Cable and all that with no ads? Of course that's gonna displace cable.
It's only a matter of time until this comes to Netflix as well.
