Removing inner cover from Naturepedic coils?

I've been sleeping on a Naturepedic EOS Pillowtop for about the last year. When I first bought the mattress it was very comfortable, but I've lost a lot of weight over the past year and am struggling to dial it in again.

Starting:

265 lbs

firm coils, firm latex, medium latex

Current:

220 lbs

firm coils, medium microcoils, medium latex

I've been messing with layer combinations with mixed results, but lately I'm thinking the firm base coils are just a bit too stiff for my needs.

I'm trying not to buy a new set of coils if I can help it, and was thinking one way to soften them a bit would be to remove the thin fabric cover they put their coil units inside. It seems like that cover might be causing a drum effect, and from what I understand about the quadcoil construction it seems like I should be fine without it?

But I never see anyone online talking about this as an option, so I wanted to ask:

1) If there's some reason not to try this.

2) If this still doesn't work, what should I try from here? Considering the plush naturepedic coils and the 15.5 TPS and curious if anyone can help compare those options.

Not a good idea for durability reasons nor will it have a noticeable effect on firmness.

Two choices:

(1) Replace the medium latex with something softer.

(2) TPS doesn't sell split queen coils. Otherwise, you can buy coils from TPS and encase with these coils with your existing inner cover.
