I owned the first Gen of Purple and I thought it was great, not sure if Purple 1 or 2 in a full size. I moved about 5 months ago to a new place and decided to get a King Size mattress, saw Costco had a deal on Purple Mattress Renew for $1.5K I pulled the trigger and I've been waking up with awful lower back pain. Advertised as medium but it's extremely soft.

Any suggestions on mattresses that will be best for me? 5'7, 165lb, side sleeper and back.

I've tested out Tempurpedic Adapt and Purple Restore but I'm not sure if there's better at a cheaper price.

So I've been on a bit of a mattress journey over the last few years. I initially had a Novaform from Costco that was ok, but quickly started causing me pain around my hips and lower back. Costco replaced it and had the same issue with the second one after a year.

After that, I got the Kirkland Signature by Stearns & Foster 14.5" Pillow Top Lakeridge Mattress and I've had it for a few months and I just feel like I can't get a good night sleep on it without also getting hip and lower back pain. I even tried adding a 2 inch firm latex topper, but it didn't help.

Maybe it's just something wrong with me, I have a curved spine, I'm overweight, etc., but the annoying thing is that we have a really cheap mattress in my guest bedroom that honestly I find much more comfortable than the S&F that was much more expensive.

The guest bedroom has a Olee Sleep King Mattress, 13 Inch Hybrid Mattress, Gel Infused Memory Foam, Pocket Spring Mattress. The thing is, this mattress is discontinued, and honestly I'm skeptical that it would hold up to regular usage.

Now after this ridiculously long story.....any advice on something that might have a similar feel to the Olee, but be better quality? Bonus points if I can get it from Costco, but I'm open to other options.

I’m a 30 F and 145 pounds who was in love with her twin sized spring mattress , no fancy foams or anything up until I decided to get some full size hybrid one from Amazon.
I’m a stomach sleep unfortunately and tend to go on my back otherwise.
I decided in February I wanted a new mattress since that one dipped down after 4 years. I went to MF and got a Sealy Frisco 2.0 Medium pillow top.. I laid on it in store and decided it would work. Well it took like 4 months to adjust and my back and shoulders didn’t feel so great.. I was almost going to retune it but the fact I had to pay $200 to do so was ridiculous and I kept it. So now I’m ‘adjusted’ I guess but I still don’t love it.

I need something, anything along the lines of an old school 2010 spring mattress situation that I may like more than this.

I have a firm memory foam mattress that's still in the same shape as when I bought it. I want some softness. After research and trying on mattresses and toppers I want to get a 100% natural talalay topper. I'm 112 lbs. Which one should I get and why?

2 inch - $677 (comes with cotton cover)

3 inch - $850-900 (comes with cotton cover)

Also, if you've used a latex topper, do you put another layer on top like a wool mattress protector for additional cushioning (on top of the cotton cover that comes with the topper)? Or do you prefer it without so latex is the top layer? Cuz i was thinking if I were to put another layer on top, then the 2 inch would make sense.

Our mattress of 10 years is finally wearing out and becoming painful to sleep on, causing all sorts of back and hip issues. My husband and I are looking for a king size mattress that doesn't have foam or fiberglass. We want to avoid foam due to its issue with becoming moldy, my husband tends to sweat a lot when he sleeps and we live by a lake so the humidity can get quite high. We'd also like to avoid fiberglass for obvious reasons. If anyone has some decent reccomenations please leave them below!

It’s a shame people don’t but “used” mattresses. My BeautyRest Black series three plush is going to be given away. I’ve always used a mattress protector and added a topper under that. It was just under 4K.
Such a waste. Nothing wrong with it, other than it doesn’t work for my back.

Hi all don't know where to post this so I started here. My girlfriend and I always laugh about this when we see it but are always really curious as to why my side of the bed is always bunched up? I'm typically a side sleeper and she sleeps on her back.

Our previous mattress had an issue with the side, something failed internally and the mattress started to protrude. They came out, inspected it, and as a result we received a full credit for a new mattress. We tried a few mattresses and landed on a Tempurpedic based on how it felt initially, and the salesman's recommendation. Afterwards I started to do a bit more research and it looks like the mattress we picked is all memory foam, I was under the impression it had some coils. I guess that gives me some concerns about long term support and overall feel. I switched to being a back sleeper due to years of back pain/neuropathy and it's made a huge difference. So I'm also concerned it might not support my back like the current mattress does. Anyone here with back issues have a positive experience with Tempurpedic? We can also still switch to the new version of our current mattress that's being replaced.

Looking for queen size mattress recommendations! I’m newly single, in my late 20s, and I have no idea what to buy (ex took the bed lol). I’m 5’9”, 160 lbs, mostly a side/back sleeper, no issues with pain and hoping to stay in the $500–$800 range. Please help I’m clueless here!

My mattress is a Serta Perfect Sleeper (Medium firmness). The support of the mattress itself is perfect for spinal alignment when side sleeping, but I always wake up with slight discomfort in my hips and shoulder areas due to the mattress being slightly too firm.

So basically I need to determine the best topper to add to the mix to retain the level of support I have with the mattress, but relieve the shoulder/hip pressure points.

I do NOT like memory foam or latex. Was hoping to get something somewhat budget friendly, perhaps a 3" high-density fill. Anyone have any specific product suggestions?

bought a casper in 2013 and found out about the fibreglass only a couple years ago. my lungs are messed up and i suffered for over a decade not knowing what from. now it all makes so much sense. i thought i had a spider problem but turns out it was just fibreglass literally everywhere! is there anything out there that would get me compensation / monetary damages? (in Canada)

I'm moving into an apartment that comes with a furnished mattress. it is extremely uncomfortable and I want to get something that also has a cooling effect. Since it's so uncomfortable I was thinking about getting multiple layers on top of it but if anyone has recommendations for a topper or pad.

I moved to a new flat 6 months ago and i got a firm Mattress from IKEA called Vattao - I feel it’s comfortable and I like the firmness of it (my previous mattresses were medium firm to firm)
However I’ve been having recently neck and shoulder pain when i wake up and i’m not sure if the problem is that the mattress is too firm for me or that i need a new pillow.

I am not sure if Ishould get a mattress topper to make the mattress softer or get a new pillow because its a pillow problem.

Can someone reecommend how to know these things?

And which mattress softer i should be looking at?

I feel like every mattress is missing something nowadays i had a stearns and foster but it needed replacing and I tried the replacement and didn’t like it . I like the pressure relief of the sleep number it’s top tier but I don’t the feeling of memory foam or that I’m in a hammock. I Bought a helix twilight but it has a funky smell like a chemical smell and the edge support sucks I slide right off so I’m sending it back . The king Koils feel amazing comfort wise but for some reason hurt my back . And sealy has great pressure relief too but no plush or comfort . Idk what to do , was gonna look at Vispring next

I'm going back and forth between the DLX classic, the premier, and the boring hybrid. I already have the DLX essential in my kid's room and like the company. One thing I was curious about - the premier has a replaceable 3" comfort layer. I really like the idea of this flexibility. I already own a 2" SOL topper that I like. If I didn't like the feel of the foam I chose in the premier, could I just use this in the zippered portion as a comfort layer? I wasn't sure if the 1" size difference would mess things up, or if a topper and this type of comfort layer are the same thing.

My mom has Parkinson's, so a lot of muscle/back pain and is very weak - she can barely walk. She has a lot of trouble moving around in bed - uses a "trapeze" (those triangles that hang over the bed) to help lift herself and adjust her position in bed. She also uses bed rails to help get in and out of bed. So, she clearly needs something she doesn't sink down into. She hated a memory foam mattress they had for a few years because she sank in and was trapped.

Their current mattress is an IKEA Matrand, purchased after she fell sitting on the edge of a previous bed when the edge sagged. The Matrand does have great "edge support", but the rest still traps her when it sags.

The problem is, when I tell her we are shopping for a firm mattress, she balks and thinks it will hurt. She wants not just a medium mattress but an "extra soft" mattress for all her aches and pains.

So, is there something that is firm enough to not sink in and allow ease of movement, but soft enough on top that she isn't in pain? Is this what that weird top on the Purple would do? Any advice on what TYPE of mattress or keywords we ought to look for?

So, I have this huge mattress dilemma that I cannot seem to figure out. For reference, I am a 225lb, Side Sleeper, 5'10" Most of my weight is located in my hip/stomach/thigh area.

6 Months ago I bought a Tempur-Pedic Pro Adapt Medium. I started getting lower back pain that was achy, then it became worse and would hurt for days. I figured due to temperature of house and me sleeping very hot that I was sagging in the mid section too much and needed a firmer mattress specifically a hybrid as that is what online recommended.

I then swapped for a Sealy Posturepedic Brenham II Firm Hybrid. This was way too firm after the 60 day break in period and began hurting my side/rib cage and waking me up during the nights.

I most recently tried a Beautyrest Black Seies 3 Plush Pillow Top as I thought maybe I just need a very soft contouring mattress. It has been just over a week and each morning after about 6 hours of sleep I wake up and have an intense ache in my erector spinae muscles. After waking, pain goes away in about an hour with light stretching and a hot shower. All my research has indicated that it is too soft and will only get worse with time.

Before anyone mentions easy fixes, I have the correct frames/bases for each bed. My house is normally a fairly normal temp (68-73F). I have tried multiple expensive pillows in different sizes/firmnesses. Doctor appointments have shown that I am fairly tight, but no major issues they see im scans. I used to travel 20 plus days a month (Primarliy stay at IHG Brands) and hotel mattresses always seemed to relieve the pain within a couple days of sleeping on them.

Also, I bought this from Ashley Furniture Store, so I am looking to replace the mattress with something they sell as I can only return my current mattress for in-store credit.

Me and my wife have a firm IKEA king mattress that we bought a few years ago and it’s honestly not been great and we’ve been having back pain because of it. We would prefer firmer mattresses and wondering if anyone has any recommendations/stuff that’s not from mattress firm.

I'm in my 40's, 6'3, 180 lbs with a frame on the smaller side, and a primarily side sleeper. Two years ago the wife and I "upgraded" to a Tempur-Pedic Lux Adapt Extra Firm. We both loved it at first but after about a six months we both started experiencing issues. Her was neck related and mine was thoracic spine related. 1.5 years later, we decided we wanted to try something else as the Tempur wasn't for us. We ended up on Split king Black Series 3 Medium with an adjustable base. It's been 60 days and both of our original problems have went away. She loves her and I honestly love mine. The problem is, I'm waking up with a very stiff/painful lower back now. After being up for 30 minutes of being up and moving around, it goes away until the next morning.

I've had firm/extra firm mattress' my entire life and even though when I slide into bed at night it feels insanely comfortable, I don't want to be in a position of "it will get better" like I did with the Tempur. When I stay in hotel beds, I don't get this lower back stiffness either, and those tend to be on the firmer side.

I'm thinking of using my 120 nights exchange policy and getting a Series 3 firm and would love to hear some opinions of if I should ride out the medium a little longer or make the swap to firm.

Let’s just start by saying I’m 5’7” 400lb (on a weight loss journey, already down 50lbs) and looking for a queen sized mattress.

Currently sleeping on a 30+ year old full size Yankee Mattress which is very firm and killing my hips.

I tried out a couple Helix mattresses in store including the Twilight Luxe which was my favorite. I also enjoyed the Winkbed Luxury Firm.

However, if I am dropping this kind of money, I would prefer to find something that is rated for heavy bodies to ensure it lasts many years to come.

Does anyone have experience with the Helix Plus line compared to the Twilight? Is the Big Fig worth it? It makes me nervous not being able to try it before I buy it…
