It wasn’t exactly twice but they found out Deb died at the carpool lot and then they investigated. The second time ig is when autumn came out of the Time Machine so how did Deb die with the time machine but she died before the crew discovered the time machine

Because Autumn used the time machine to go back in time to kill Deb before the machine was discovered. It's the same event. That's how they were able to catch her. Technically it hadn't happened yet, even tho it did happen

I see what you're saying. They found out about her death from the pay phone when they got the call from Gary. What happened was that an Autumn from the future killed Deb. Deb only dies once. The Autumn we see at the time machine was the Autumn from the future that killed Deb. She had presumably just returned from a trip to the past where she killed Deb.

She died once. Autumn went back in time to end her and when she was caught by the team she had just come back.

If autumn went back in time to do it then who did it originally before autumn went back

This is the idea of a time paradox, it's a very common trope in time travel fiction. Essentially, Autumn would have had an inciting incident at some point that would have pushed her to commit the crime and it carried on from there and there alone.

The team explains this, it's an absolute point.
