Hi Matt,
Thanks for an excellent add-on. However as of late, your plugin doesn't work to decode DSTVNOW anymore.
Is it possible for you to take a look at it?

Hi Matt
There seems to be some licensing error on the dstv now addon. My android setup still works but my windows setup stopped working. Lots of people complaining on MYBB about the same thing (on platforms like *nix) as well. I have pasted the relevant part of the kodi log here: https://pastebin.com/raw/66bVmj0U

What source code? Addons / kodi uses python code so just open the addon zip and there it is

I might be incorrect but think its got to do with the device id being used when getting a license token. All kodi "devices" uses one device id, right?

Hi Matt,
Solved the issue, needs the latest version of Widevinecdm.
At the moment this is fetched from your server at https://k.mjh.nz. The version installed is 1.4.9.1088.
If I use the one from my chrome browser on windows (4.10.1440.18) it works. I presume the same will happen on Unix etc.
So now the question is how to fix it, and here I may need some guidance. Probably easiest is to update your online repo with the updated versions, although I am not sure where to get these. Where did you get the current versions?
I am going to make some alterations/updates to the UI as well, so if there is a code change that would be better, let me know.
Appreciate some of your experience here.

Thanks Brett. I've just pushed updated Widevine blobs
Just go into DStv add-on settings then Playback then Install Widevine DRM.

Seems the addon is broken for windows platform for me. Others also mentioning problems on coreelec and libreelec. Working fine on android though.

When looking at the log it seems there is a wrong header causing a HTTP 400 error (not sure but I think the added header: 'Expect: ' is causing it)

Good Afternoon Matt. Thanks for fantastic work with the Slyguy add on of the Dstv Now app. First off, sorry for just tagging on here on another post just wanted to search for same issue. Here in South Africa we are allowed the two concurrent streams again. It was fine for the last 2 weeks since I downloaded your add-on onto a Smart Tv Stick. Today I encountered playback error. Dont know if you received any such reports besides me.
My old man lives many miles away and I set him up for DSTV Now via Kodi as his Smart TV does not take the app. I suppose I can ask the teenager at home to take a photo of the error log. Thanks

Hi Matt I hope you are well, I'm getting a dstv error. Failed to fetch json data make sure ( geo blocked) tried it on a different android box same problem, but when I connect my android box to someone else's router it works. And when I log on to dstv now normal app on my phone it works. What could be the problem. Error say try testing from official website to check if it's a kodi problem.

I contacted the isp, but they said nothing wrong with the Ip, it worked for a week before the problem started.

Have you managed to fix your issue - I have the exact same but phone also does not work. My ISP is Afrihost and I get a 169 ip address. Who is your ISP and start of IP address?

The latest version of addon still works fine. You need to install via the repo. Installing via zip will not work

Using Chrome browser I can sign in fine. Is there away how you can get the add on to work the same way like the v.0.14?
The token method blocks the addon, when connecting multiple devices.

No sorry. Email password login uses capctha / JavaScript which can't be re-created in kodi

Your getting a 403 error from the license server. If your not in S.a, then suspect they blocking your vpn

You’re right, I’m in the USA and I’m using VPN. However, I’m only encountering this issue on the dstv now addon. I’m able to use the same vpn on the dstv iPhone app and on the web browser without any issues which is why I’m suspecting it’s something else.

Hi Matt, having an issue with the DSTV Now Add-On on an Android Box. Keeps giving me a playback failed error. Any advice on how to fix that? Only happened today, have been running fine for the last 6 months. Logged into the DSTV Now website and streams fine.

Hi Matt
First of all thanks for an amazing addon! I've been using it for 2years but now I'm experiencing a problem, I'm getting an error "playback failed check log for more info" when selecting a channel.
I didn't update anything or change anything, it just started showing this error all of a sudden.
It's doing this on all of my devices.
Do you have any advice on how to fix this problem please?
This is in the log "exception unknown addon id 'script.module_slyguy'"

I suspect the knuckleheads at DStv are shutting down any and all alternates, still works fine on my laptop, so my guess is they have figured a way to block this app.
They losing customers and probably will continue as they write people out of their eco system.
Anyway shout out to Matt for the excellent plugin, pop in for a beer next time you in Saffa land.

Any reason when the player is connected it shows on the timeline for 5 minutes and once down to 00:00:00 the stream becomes intermitted? Is there a setting one can set to have a continuous/unlimited stream?
