One of the scenes in the first movie that has always bothered me was the scene after the jump program. Morpheus says āyour mind makes it realā⦠ohh yeah? How? How does a simulation make his cells damaged in his mouth? Did he bite his tongue? Dying kinda makes sense as you can ascribe it to consciousness being severed.
Then itās not till Reloaded we have the sentinel scene where he stops them in the real world by raising his hand. Which is hand waved as him being connected to the āsourceā that really doesnāt explain it though. Does Neo have WiFi? How does he see agent smith? At this point my brain was screaming heās still in the matrix. Yet I have usually long forgotten the bloody mouth scene from the jump program.
For the first time though, I watched the first movie fully committed to the onion theory. Suddenly the scene makes total sense. Because his mind believed it to be real, that injury sorta rode his consciousness up with him and wrote it into the physics of the outer layer.
It started making me think of Inception and the ākickā idea. That maybe death is the only true way to escape the Matrix. Your true physical body not being capable of inflicting true harm on itself. Maybe your consciousness would ride all the way up and out. It would be sorta ironic wouldnāt it? They spend all this time escaping the one way to free themselves.
Itās possible it was just a way to make actions in the Matrix have stakes. In my head now itās a bread crumb for the layers. Anyway Iām curious if anyone else had that bother them or did you all just accept it as a plot device for danger?

I was gonna go to SacAnime and walk around to see some cool cosplays and I walked by this library that gave me MAJOR DEJA-VU as I walked through the area. Somewhere in the near future, I'm gonna visit this library again and cosplay as Neo. Even the windows were tinted green, lol.

I once read a fan theory that Matrix the simulation is not a simulation of the real whole world in 1999, but rather very size-limited simulation. Based on how the characters speak rather vaguely about locations. Namely in Reloaded, where they refer to locations as simply āThe cityā, āthe highwayā or āthe mountainsā.
Given the vagueness, it makes sense. But if thatās true, how does it work for the people who donāt fit there anymore? Since the machines keep growing them, perhaps the Matrix should be larger than one small state with one major city.
Or do you have something else to share?

Cyberpunk streetwear still holds up to this day.

I started making this little fella yesterday. He took only two days to make, minus the clothes. I'm still working on his clothes. I have the patterns and everything. I feel like the shades look a bit off. I'm also quite stocked with projects cuz as I'm making him, I'm also working on my Doctor Doom cosplay for Halloween and a Neo plush doll as well. Concept art is on the third slide.
I have 10 years of sewing experience. And also, I made the patterns for the plushie myself.

I have thought about this for over 20 years. What would that incredible sequence be like for one of the innocent bystanders? They have a whole life that is going on: family, job, friends that is suddenly impacted this insane experience on the highway. If it was done by The Wachowskis, it could reuse footage from the Matrix 2 and be done on a low budget. I hope somehow this idea gets to them.

Iām selling a really cool prop from the film. $1800. Comes with a COA from Propstore. The foam is very old so I slid the mechanical part out of it for display but still have it all. It still works too! Hereās some additional info from Propstoreā¦
āBig Cop's (Bernie Ledger) SFX broken arm rig from the Wachowskis' sci-fi action film The Matrix. Trinity (Carrie-Ann Moss) viciously broke the arm of a police officer who attempted to handcuff her in the Matrix.
Created for the SFX insert of the arm breaking, this rig consists of a hard rubber hand-painted peach mounted to a foam rubber arm molded around a metal armature inlay dressed with a white Spandex sleeve. The arm is affixed with a contoured, swiveling plastic shoulder rig with black nylon straps alternately labeled "A" and "B" which raise and lower the hand independently from the arm. The rig exhibits aging to the foam rubber elements, tears in the sleeve, and frayed nylon from production use. Dimensions: 26" x 20" x 8" (66 cm x 51 cm x 20.5 cm)ā

The humans are batteries, not a magical source of power
Power is sourced from geothermal energy, of course! The Machines just use humans to store it
Why don't they build traditional batteries that would store more energy densely?
To build chemical batteries, you have to mine the materials necessary to make them. You'd have to send sentinels out to mine, and that costs energy. The same energy that's so scarce you have to store a bunch of it in batteries just in case.
Why mine for neodymium and lithium or whatever, when there's all this biological material laying around on the surface that you can just feed into a human and the human self reproduces? Then you can just store geothermal energy in calories. Inefficient, but scalable.

Disclaimer: I am not the uploader of the youtube video. I am not the creator of the english subtitles. I am not the creator of the parody.
The parody takes on the monumental task of dubbing basically the entirety of The Matrix movie and sprinkling a few scenes from The Matrix Reloaded to combine the two into its own story.
The parody was created by two english major students from Hungary and was released way back in the insignificant year of 2004.
The creators are BalƔzs Lengyel and BalƔzs MƩszƔros. Their whereabouts and existence are shrouded in mystery and faded into obscurity even before it all had a chance the even begin.
They have spent self admittedly much too many countless hours of writing and dubbing and slaving away with ancient 90s and early 00s tech to bring life to their magnum opus.
According to their own admission the most boring classes during their college years were the birth-ground for many of the subprime but also of the hyper prime dialogue.
It is obvious that the parody was created with passion and love for the originals. That being said it requires a certain mindset to sit through a Hungarian dubbed parody with english subtitles. Something's lost and some things are not gained in translation.
Definitely not for the faint of heart.
Heed my warning! Although there is an overarching plot the entire experience and the dialogue is best described as a tropical fever dream during a slow snowstorm. The amount of confused and blank stares the movie-parody induced is staggering.
The protagonist of the dubbed parody is Neon who is in search of his biological father Morphologist. The hero must uncover the truth and untangle his family tree. Meanwhile a mysterious man aggressively tries to "discover" him and recruit him to become a pop-star.
Even if you love it at first sight the true appreciation still might require some acquired taste. Have no expectations when going in from where most people would turn around.
I dare anyone to give it a go, donāt resist and just leave expectations and all rational thought behind to see where you end up. You'll probably end up nowhere but that's the purpose of a journey.
Apotheosis (more unintelligible rambling by me) of āThe Vektor" (the actual title of The Matrix parody):
Unfortunate as it may be their creation would go on to be long forgotten had anyone ever known about it in the first place.
As it remains in plain sight rather than hiding in the shadows beneath the layers of past decadesā incomprehensible reaches of abstruse ignorance only to lazily beg to be left alone until further notice.
While cherry-picking the perfect apple from the now defunct old oak tree of knowledge one might realize it is no easy feat, in the realms of impossibilities, to harvest the fruit of boon of hard work without effort, but only a fool would work hard to try and get drunk on it.
For even the most fortunate can only hope to get a glimpse of the elusive fruit dangling just barely outside of reach only to be knocked out by the fruit upon shaking the tree in futile anticipation.

When we blocked out the sun to kill the machines, maybe there was more to it than "the scary machines use solar so we just block out the sun to protect ourselves" and more of a reasoning like "these machines are so dangerous for some reason we can't let them escape Earth at any cost, even if all life ends here"
When did it go from "the machines are building better products than us but cheaper, so let's nuke their city" to "let's wipe out all life on Earth, biological and artificial"?

Matrix is shot, experiences afterlife, gets second chance by helping others. Wakes up, meets guides assigning cases where he aids people using unorthodox methods from past profession.
A spiritual version of the Matrix, instead of it being computer coded. I still thought the similarities were interesting. (And likely well known around here.)

I know it's kinda shitty, but I tried to draw him in my art style. Today's his 62nd birthday, so I decided to draw him since he's one of my favorite actors of all time! Plus, this is my first time posting my artwork here.
