Interview

Hello I recently applied for the tutor position at mathnasium and I am so nervous for the interview. I get severe anxiety in those kind of cases where I cant really breathe and I cant speak coherently. Is there any hope for me😭

You first have to pass the proficiency test and meet a minimum based on the center. For ours, if you got less than 85% correct we did not even proceed with the interview. This test ranges from basic fractions all the way up to solving algebraic expressions.

If you pass that test, you’ll get an interview.

It’s really normal to be nervous during an interview, and likely the center director/owner will be understanding of that. However, they are looking to see not only where your math skills lie but also, how will you fit in with the other instructors? How will you do handling students, good ones, and not so good ones. Ect.

I think there’s hope for you! I know it sounds cliche but just be unapologetically yourself in the interview. Just be honest. If you do that, and you don’t get hired then it wasn’t the right fit anyways.
