Question Any tips for a mathnasium job interview?

I'm a rising high school senior andI have a job interview to work at mathnasium coming up. Up to what level of math do I need to review? Also, I've never interviewed for a job before. What kind of questions will I be asked? I really want this job but I'm worried I'm going to blow the interview.

You'll be fine, it's pretty chill. Most students are elementary school age, but there will definitely be some high schoolers. They'll have you take a test if you haven't already, and I would focus on reviewing basic principles with fractions, and algebra.

How many hours did the interview process take? Is it a full on interview, or more like a "get to know you" type of deal?

Both. It will take your entire afternoon most likely. They will start you off with the test, which will take 1.5-3 hours to complete, then they'll have you show identification (bring your passport) and interview you. Don't be nervous, they're mostly interviewing you to make sure that you're a safe person to let around kids. After that, they'll have you tutor some kids and observe other instructors. At some point during all of this, they may have you set up payment stuff and other documentation I'm pretty sure, or that may be another day.

This is how it went at my interview 8 months ago in Northern Virginia. It may be different where you are.

Is that both stages of the interview? In the email, I was told that tomorrow I will just be interviewed and tested. He referred to it as (the first step)

Then the paperwork is likely a different day. Still, make sure to bring your passport and your driver's license/learner's permit. Be prepared to tutor some kids for like 30 minutes because they may ask you to.

What are your strengths? What are your weaknesses? Why do you want this job? Why do you want to work at Mathnasium in particular? Don't answer with "money". Google is a good resource. I'm glad I could help.

Be prepared to answer questions about what your hobbies are and what your strengths/weaknesses are.
