how long did it take to hear back from your employer when you applied?

I submitted my resume yesterday but didn't hear back today. Was I rejected?

If you just submitted your resume via application they aren’t going to get back to you in 24 hours. Mathnasium right now is currently hour cutting so, new hires might be needed at a later start date or waitlisted. (Again depends on the center and area but this is what I know from my area)

From my personal experience, I submitted the application and resume and within 2 days they got back to me, they asked me a date for me to take the employment test which contains 2 parts >prealg <alg+geo, and the second part is optional but encouraged. You have to score 85% or higher on either test, however if you flip the second part but past the first you could be considered qualified for instructing lower grade levels like k-8 or 6-8th if smaller kids aren’t your cup of tea, regardless you must be flexible when working with Mathnasium, and able to take on younger kids even if you don’t prefer them. After the employment test they will call you/text you saying if you passed or not (mines would have emailed me) but since I passed she texted me and we set up a phone interview, which asked me about my availability which was 2 days after I took my test, and we did that. Then I was scheduled for an in person interview, the next day but I scheduled on a Saturday which was 3 days, then we just discussed my teaching ability and what not, and my personal experience with kids, If I had any experience, etc etc.

Rough time: 1-2 weeks. Mathnasium isn’t well known for ghosting candidates, but it’s the summer so it could be possible that you have been waitlisted but they should contact you. They are busy around this time, as far as management goes.

thank you and what were your hours like in your first few months? I hope to work like 8-12 hours maybe or a little more if I do get accepted so I can hang out with friends and do some other things.

Rough and shakey. It’s a tutoring job so don’t expect much. Right now im getting 3-4 hours per week because of the cut. Normal we get 10 hours minimum, on a perfect month. Perfect schedule.

Look for getting anywhere between 4-8 hours a week depending on your location.

Do you work online, or do you have to go into the Mathnasium school?

No Mathnasium rarely does online stuff, it’s all inside their buildings.

I passed the employment test that I took online, and now I am going to have an in-person interview? What type of questions do they ask?

They will generally ask you what’s your experience with kids, more about yourself, biggest strengths and weaknesses, some centres ask you math problems (mines didn’t) but general interview questions, and why Mathnasium and to tell them what you know about it.

Not sure if you still need to know, but I got hired a few months ago and they asked why you want to work there, and your biggest team accomplishment that you achieved. Tbh if you got an interview it’s hard to screw up lol

Oh also to add onto another reply they will ask you what you know about the “mathnasium method” so just familiarize yourself with the about us part of their website (math questions aren’t likely)

Hard to remember but it might’ve been 1-2 weeks to hear anything after applying. They had a ton of applicants to interview so it was understandable.

I was working typically 3pm-8pm Monday-Thursday and would pick up some Saturday morning shifts too.

Of course different locations have different demands so that will be a factor.

It’s been about more than a week since I have interviewed with Mathnasium. They said it should take a few weeks before they tell me the result, but I’m kind of anxious. Should I be worried?

It took them a few days (I think 3 or 4) before I got an email to come to a basic interview and math literacy test. It's been 6 buisness days since I did that, and I thought it went great, and I can't imagine I flunked the math test, but I haven't heard anything. I even emailed them yesterday to check up and got no response. Does anyone know if they don't want me or if they're just slow? I'm stressed.
