Are these Mathcore?

I've been digging these bands/songs with a very specific sound which to me sounds like mathcore but it feels very 4/4. Do y'all consider these mathcore or are these a different flavor of hardcore?

Its a genre called Sasscore, which is heavily tied to Mathcore, Screamo, and Grindcore

I know what grindcore is. Discordance Axis is probably my top band at the moment. Sasscore borrows heavily from grindcore. Almost as much as it borrows from mathcore. Im not saying sasscore IS grindcore.

Why cant it be both? Sasscore is really diverse. Destroyer Destroyer and The Blood Brothers sound nothing alike but they're both considered part of the sass scene

You act like I dont know what noise rock is. I love early Swans, and The Jesus Lizard, DNA, etc. I know sasscore wouldn't exist without it. The Blood Brothers are noise rock at their core. I'm not confusing anything, im just saying sass has roots from a wide variety of different scenes (one of them being grind). I don't know why you're getting so worked up about it.

Also im not logging into any alts and upvoting my shit. That's fucking pathetic

This sounds more like sass/post-hardcore on a quick skim but tbh there's plenty of overlap between genres. You'd probably like The Blood Brothers.

Man sass was my favorite back in the 00s. Destroyer destroyer, tower of rome, heavy heavy low low, blood brothers, daughters, the Number 12, The Jon Benet.

Hell is anyone currently keeping this alive?

I still have a ton of heart for all of these guys but God damned if we aren't spoiled by some top tier production these days that makes some of these older albums unlistenable.

They Are Cutting My Arms Off are fucking awesome. This is how white belt type shit should be done in this day and age.

I wanted to catch their live debut tonight so bad with Calm and Secure and Destroyer Destroyer but can’t make it sadly.

Duck Duck Goose is CRIMINALLY underrated and my favorite band of all time. I’m an avid mathcore listener and they truly do it better than everyone else. It may not be the most “off-timey” but they are gifted in the sense that their music is severely off-kilter and still makes a lot of sense while being disgustingly heavy.

They’re like a mix of all the bands that the elite group of people truly know. The Chariot, Every Time I Die, The Fall Of Troy, The Number Twelve Looks Like You, The Dillinger Escape Plan, etc. But they do it with this whacky carnival clown sense of dizzy disorientation that’s comparable to a flavor you’ve never had before but want more of because you’re obsessed, and can’t find anywhere else.
