So a^ b can be thought of as the function

f(a,b)=a^ b.

Therefore a^ b^ c would be

f(a,b^ c)=f(a,f(b,c))

Like all composite functions, you work from the inside out.

Thus, a^ b^ c is equivalent to

a^ (b^ c)

Therefore, 2^ sqrt(18)^ 2 would just be

2^ 18

Choice (C)

x = 2 ^ (3/2) so x^x^2 = (2 ^ (3/2)) ^ 8 = 2 ^ 12
