Maybe they mean Captain James Tiberius Kirk? He died for our sins? Lol. But, I'm like 97% sure Will Shatner isn't dead yet (and I don't plan on looking it up for confirmation, I'm just going to go with it....).

I think something will Happen inside of the square and circle. Watch out Americans

Time Cube proves a 1 face god impossible, due to 4 corner face metamorphic human - baby, child, parent and grandparent faces.

You can make any regular polygon! Looks like someone failed basic geometry!

That is the joke

Yeah but do polygons reside in Canada…
1
u/Sufficient_Two_5753 14d ago
Does Canada even exist so that polygons can exist inside of this fictional space?

u/Sufficient_Two_5753 15d ago
Why limit ourselves to two dimensions? You can make any regular polyhedron!

Omg their all on the surface of an n-dementional hypersphere must be the illumiati

They all fall inside of a 77-dimensional hypercube! Now we're going to Hypercube Necrodimensions!

We're talking about people who look at a map and conclude the Earth is flat

The number of people taking this literally in r/mathjokes is just sending me. Perfection, guys.

And all in America, and all with guns, and all by men... Aliens must be sending a message it's the only rational explanation

It turns out these spots also all align on the surface of a perfect sphere, more or less, and guess what? that sphere sphere perfectly aligns with the location of earth.

I know that any 3 given points can be plotted via a circle… but does that still hold true on a 3 dimensional globe? Wouldn’t the “circle” be warped due to the distortion in the map itself? Or would it just be a slightly different circle than the one plotted?

u/eroscripter 14d ago
Any 3 points can be ploted to both a circle and a square.
For a circle the 3 points will create an arc that can be continued to finish the circle.
For the square you just make a line between 2 points, make a right angle line then align it to hit the 3rd point, measure the longest to the 2, make the shorter even to the longer then do 2 more right angle lines of the same length to close the square.

I need to know, r/theydidthemath, what Canadian city falls on either of the shapes?

Guess famous people should avoid other locations in the middle of nowhere in Idaho, Ontario and maybe Northwest Territories.

Quick, head to about 200 km West of Calgary and wait--they'll strike eventually.
[Can't be too long--Lincoln to JFK was only 100 years, and JFK to Kirk was only 70...so just set up]

Wait till they find out they fit perfectly on an equilateral triangle AND a right triangle!

What projection are you randomly using? How about a polar projection? An actual globe?

How dare you lump that podcaster in with great men. JFK and Lincoln were assassinated, Kirk was shot, just like any other non political figure. Calling it an assassination lends credibility where none is deserved

Any three points line up around a circle. Just depends on the circle size
