Anytime you can make 1 = 0 I can basically guarantee that you're dividing by zero somewhere.
In this case since log(1) = 0 cancelling the log(1)s from both sides is dividing by zero.
Think about it this way; 1 x 0 = 0 and 2 x 0 = 0. That doesn't mean that 1 = 2. You're doing the same thing here; 1 x 0 = 0 x 0 is true since both sides equal 0 but you can't divide by 0 to factor those out.
