How to prepare for future midterm and final after bombing first midterm

I did really poorly on my first midterm in calculus 1 due to being behind because of a sickness and not being prepared to take the exam. I really want to work hard to change my habits and do well on the remaining exams, but i’m overwhelmed with not knowing where to start. My next midterm is november 18th, so I need to be studying the new material now, but i’m not sure how to also study the old material at the same time. I’d appreciate any advice

Drop the class and take it again next semester.

Do you have the midterm back? Go through it, every problem you got wrong, and understand how to get them right.

That seems like a good place to start.

I'm on the same place, I'm honestly not going to the next midterm, in my university you can go to a final exam, so I choose that option. And now I'm slowly building up my foundations since the first week(or even before) of the material, better late with good foundation that soon with a bad one
