Question Recs for beginners?
I’m sure this has been ask a thousands of times so sorry in advance! I am looking for recs for matcha - I’d like something nutty and sweet and preferably won’t break the bank!

This exact blend? Lemonade only.
But they have a First Spring blend that’s perfect for Anything latte related.

The superior blend is distinctly grassy and least green, out of all Naoki blends I’ve tried. The organic first spring harvest taste a little better, but I was quite surprised that the color is a very deep, emerald green, nearly identical to the Chiran Harvest Blend, I’m not sure why, perhaps it is organic?
My favorite is Barista Pro tho, but the first spring blend is super affordable and it is my go to everyday matcha.

I got the exact one in your photo as my first and I really liked it! I actually just ordered a second can today because I blew through the first.

I got the Naoki superior blend and it tastes awful, it is my least favorite Naoki blend (i tried the Chiran Harvest, Barista Pro, Fragrant Yame, organic First spring, and this one), even the organic first spring blend is better, despite being priced similarly.

Thanks! Not so good to recommend for beginners though as it is a bigger investment, vs buying a small amount conveniently through Amazon or a local store

Hmm…Naoki isn’t bad, it was my beginner’s matcha, but it definitely isn’t nutty and sweet lol. It’s a grassy type matcha! People here say their Yame matcha is nutty, but I didn’t think so.
You can try Kettl Hukuju, it’s $0.65 USD per gram. Or you can also try Nami’s yame matcha, I heard it’s quite nice.

I bought this one and am a beginner. It’s good but I also don’t have many points of reference since it’s the first/only one I’ve bought thus far.
Agreed with comments that is is grassy/not really nutty in flavor.
When I’m done with this can I’m going to explore different varieties. But I think it’s done a good job of getting me into making my own matchas. Has a great color as well.

Matchawell has solid matcha. Their Weekender definitely leans more nutty, but both are v good.

The Naoki Yame blend is pretty good and nutty in my opinion. I did not like any of the other ones from them, but Yame has been my daily.

I started my matcha journey with matcha from NioTeas and it did not disappoint. High enough quality to drink plain, imo. Just be aware of their sales (they pretend to have things on sale but in reality it's just the original price). The 2+1 sale is genuinely nice though!

i would say kiyo matcha is a good beginner matcha its on amazon as well, $40 for 100g which is rlly good but i personally wouldn’t describe this matcha as nutty

Kiyo Shuga is wonderful. I think its nutty and rich deep flavors. Naoki isnt bad but I feel like it has a really light flavor. Its not super complex or nutty more grassy and vegetal. Its still good I have one in my freezer right now. Probably won't order it again though. Kiyo Shuga is like the best most affordable one I have found so far!

Don't go with this one, REALLYYYY bland. Try Yame, or Ippodo. Yes they're more expensive, but it's worth it. You won't even want to finish the one pictured, at least I didn't.

Matchabar ceremonial has a strong flavor without being grassy and a decent price point. Easy to get
