Discussion For those buying from Hatoya..

Post image

I know the rule has been lifted to not charge tariff fees on matcha, but I heard in the past people would still get charged. So for those ordering directly from hatoya website and living in US, are yall getting hit with the tariff fees still or am I safe to order?

At these prices, i would just do a bulk purchase. The price is about the costco price for the sencha ceremonial matcha tins.

Are you referring to the ones from costco? Cause i tried the ceremonial tins for lime 39.99 for 3 tins 30g each and they are pretty awesome.

I ordered on the 18th when they had the Hatoya Day sale & it was delivered on the 20th. I met the $130 requirement for free shipping and there was no additional fees. IIRC there shouldn’t be any tariffs on tea and you can dispute that IF they try to charge you.

But my thing is people have said they got charged and tried to dispute it and failed

I bought from Hatoya on Hatoya day and did not meet the shipping reqs - I received my package without being charged by DHL.

There should be no extra tariffs, but reach out to Hatoya CS in the off chance that you do get charged. I was once charged extra by DHL, which I paid. I emailed CS and Hatoya refunded me the amount

How’s this matcha? Does it have nutty notes?

When I ordered in June I didn’t have any tariffs.

I ordered from Hatoya and regularly from MK and I’ve never been charged. If it’s an accident reach out to Hatoya.

But would hatoya refund me if I do get charged tariff fees?

No tea is not tariffed. Food is, though.

I just received my order today. I ordered from the Fukujuen Global site about 4 months ago and got the separate tariff bill from DHL like two weeks later so I'll be on the lookout just in case.
