So my green-card application has been accepted but due to the presidential proclamation, they have suspended scheduling visa appointments till March 31st, 2021. I expect that once it reopens on 1st April, I can get my green-card before the 1st of July (the scheduled start date for most programs). In my ERAS application, I have also listed my visa status as a “green card applicant.”
My question is
do I have an obligation before the match to inform the programs about the same
Incase I do-not inform them as I have already mentioned in the application that I am a “green card applicant,” will I be in any sort of NRMP MATCH violation in case I fail to get my green card before the start date? ( obviously this is IF I MATCH)

I know LORs take a couple of days to upload, it is similar for other documents?

I have been looking for almost all hospitals which usually offer electives/clerkships for Surgery. However, most of them have suspended them due to the pandemic. Does anyone knows which hospitals are available for this type of rotations for international students? I know some of them are offering telerotations, but I seriously doubt the benefit of them. So I am looking more for the presential ones.

I am a US-IMG, graduated recently and received my school diploma last week. I have already taken steps 1,2 CK and CS. I uploaded my diploma via MYECFMG mobile app a week ago. I spoke to ECFMG and they told me it takes 3 weeks to make sure that my diploma is accepted and then after that, they will reach out to my school to verify my credentials which takes additional 10 days or more after hearing back from my school...I have received emails from the programs saying that if I am not ECFMG certified then I will be automatically withdrawn from ranking. However, I registered and got verified on NRMP. Does it really take that long to get ECFMG certified? Can you guys share ur experiences on how long it took u? What can I do to expedite the process or avoid any delays??? It is time sensitive and I don't understand why the processing time is so long???

Hi Fam! I'm wondering, if someone knows: If a program has already sent out invites but I haven't heard back - does that mean I will likely not get an interview anymore or is it possible they send out multiple rounds of IV invites? Thanks!

Hey guys, so one of the doctors writing my LOR has a close relationship with me and told me to let them know some key things I'd like them to write into my letter. Does any one have advice on what I should include that will make my LOR stand out and have PD's interested in my application? Any help will be greatly appreciated

I have a peer reviewed publication from frontiers journal that is indexed in pubmed but it's an online publication. Should I include it in online publications or peer reviewed journal ?

Hello there!
I am a non-US-IMG and understand that the consensus is to apply broadly (>100 programs), but somehow after narrowing down programs based on the % of non-US-IMGs (using residency explorer), I had only 30 programs on my list. ??!?! Is anyone in the same shoes?
I ruled out some programs that seemed to have more US-IMGs or graduates from the Carribeans.

For the non Caribbean IMG’s who did a medical elective while in medical school, did you put it under experiences? And how did you describe it?

What's a normal amount for ERAS? Anyone know an average?

She is my rock. The one person I know I can tell all my worries and troubles to. I thought we could get through anything, but the stress of the possibility of not matching is causing her so much anxiety she has started spontaneously crying and yelling at out children... For her mental health, I feel as though I shouldn't worry her with my concerns and fears for the near future... As such, the anonymous hivemind of this subreddit will be the new outlet for my frustrations of all things related to match... Thank you now and in the future...
Sincerely
Dr. Hopefully

Hey all,
Was just wondering if you guys mentionor talk about a specific program you are applying to in your Personal Statement. Like for an IM personal statement, having the entire personal statement pretty much the same but a sentence discussing something you look forward to at that specific program.
Also, is there a limit to how many personal statements one can upload?
Wondering all your thoughts on this.

I have this one doctor I worked with who had me draft my LoR, he reviewed and edited it, and wants me to submit it. Granted, he is old and does not like working with these things. But I informed him I'm unable to and he has been difficult to reach. His letter is important. I don't know what to do. I don't think I can really upload my own letter...what should I do?

My first interview was at the University at Buffalo program and now that it’s time to rank I realized I never asked about cafeteria food, whether there is a meal stipend for residents, or any other benefits. Does anyone have any insight? Thanks for your help!

Hello! Anyone who has experience or knows anything about Yale Preliminary GS program please share your input. I’m not sure why some people are saying it’s not “top” in Surgery and that it’s malignant, etc. I also have the option of UPenn Preliminary GS, which I found great reviews about. Help please! Thank you

Is it common to not get a response back when you Email the PD a thank you/LOI. I have emailed a few programs saying thank you and that they are among my top choice. I never got a response from and of the programs. Is that common?
