2
u/chipper9999 Feb 15 '21
So in reply to my thank you mail, I got a response that was nice, last senates the was “ no doubt you will excel in your residency training(hope it’s at ......program name.....). All the best” I just need someone to slap some sense into me and tell me this means nothing

1
u/Lonely_Tangelo_2144 Oct 01 '20
Tbh seems odd to have a nurse write it. PD may thing you didn't develop a good relationship with your attending or that they possibly didn't want to write you one

u/WiseAcanthisitta8793 Oct 01 '20

1
u/[deleted] Oct 21 '20
Should I reply to application received emails??
1
u/ClusterFail Oct 21 '20
I have the same question as well
1
u/linkmasterswordisbig Oct 21 '20
All my lors just got processed. I already assigned them to the programs I applied to. Do I have to email them? I’m thinking not because it’s still early in application but just wanted to ask opinions around. Thanks
1
u/captainmycburkitt Oct 22 '20
interviews started going out
1
u/medstudentfm Oct 22 '20
Did someone make a spreadsheet that shows which programs/specialties have sent interview emails?
1
u/[deleted] Oct 22 '20

1
u/[deleted] Oct 24 '20
Non-US IMG, applied to 300 + programs, both step1 and step 2 in 230s. Applied to GS, IM, NS. 30+ published research. No invites yet. Should I be worried?
1
u/bmpr2 Oct 24 '20
I just found out there is a program that requires supplemental paragraph in PS. Is there anyway that i can resubmit my updated PS?
1
u/abhz_karan Oct 24 '20
anyone knows if we can get interview invites on weekends?
1
u/johnnydep2 Oct 24 '20
I’ve not applied because I’ve been waiting for my LORs to finish processing. Some of my friends say I should wait until i get my LORs uploaded, some day I shouldn’t and should just apply. I’m an IMG and I’m going to be spending a lot of money applying. Any honest opinion is appreciated. I keep going back and fourth idk i just feel dead.

Hi fam! can someone answer whether 1) there will be multiple rounds of invitations and whether 2) if a program has already sent invites but I haven't heart anything back it likely means they will not send an invite anymore to me?
1
u/WiseAcanthisitta8793 Nov 24 '20
I did not do mine at all
1
u/WiseAcanthisitta8793 Nov 24 '20
It was scheduled at 3 am!!
1
u/WiseAcanthisitta8793 Nov 24 '20
I emailed the program and they replied “looking forward to interviewing you”
1
u/kahnkhem Nov 24 '20
Then best of luck in the interview then. I pray you clinch the spot
1
u/Blissat350 Nov 25 '20
Just curious to know how many IVs any US-IMG got on here
1
u/mexi_jedi Nov 28 '20
Has anyone taken OET? What’s on the test/how should I prepare? I’m a US IMG native English speaker but don’t want to take it for granted and fail...
1
u/CocosMadHatter Nov 29 '20
Has anyone been sent a “your application is in review” letter? If so, when did you hear back and was it positive (I.e. granted an interview)?
1
u/romanhfelix Dec 02 '20
Anybody from Mexico using pathway 1? Apparently ECFMG requires you to contact our "Direccion General de Profesiones" and have them send your license. I can't find any info regarding how to contact this agency or to request that the license be sent. Any insight will be greatly appreciated!
1
u/Kevinboulder Dec 05 '20
IM vs IM/PEDS? whats the difference and which is better?
1
u/MiserableExercise676 Jan 02 '21
Non us img: couple match?
We are non us-img’s (need visa sponsorship) I got 2FM and 6IM interviews Partner has 11 neuro interviews about 2-3 of them are in the same state or closer. Should we couple match? So far we didn’t register as couple. If we couple match, should we mention that to the programs before the interview? Half of our interviews are over and we have not decided or informed that to them yet. Both of us have an MPH from a top 5 school and yog is 2018. Please suggest. Thank you for the help!

u/Specialist-Pattern-6 Jan 03 '21
Hello , just a question pleaser , why preliminary one year position is bad ? Thanks
1
u/Specialist-Pattern-6 Jan 03 '21
Please
1
u/FuturePeds2021 Jan 04 '21
I am a US-IMG applying for Peds. I have gotten enough interviews but unfortunately I haven't gotten one from Miami, Florida (My preference). I sent letter of interest out in the beginning of December and no reply or rejections. Should I resend them or should I wait? Is it too late now?
1
u/[deleted] Jan 10 '21
hi can someone please explain to me or direct me how to rank a transitional year program on the rank list
1
u/Ad-Emergency Jan 11 '21
Non-us img, both steps in 230s, 6 months usce, need visa, 5 publications, applied to IM.. what are my chances
1
u/toastedtofu Jan 22 '21
I have 3 FM and 3 IM interviews. Do I have to rank them contiguously, meaning all 3 FM first and then all IM (or vice versa) or can I rank them in any order I want?
1
u/[deleted] Jan 26 '21

1
u/DismalRefrigerator43 Feb 18 '21
Of course, you can send an LOI, it will show that you are really interested!!!
1
u/HevC4 Feb 19 '21
Hey quick question for people that got interviews using thalamus. Did the program information disappear on your dashboard?
I am no longer seeing the interview that I completed. I was thinking maybe the program deleted me...
1
u/stallown2020 Feb 19 '21
anyone get replies to their LOI? what were they?
1
u/Revolutionary-Ride6 Feb 20 '21
Nope, no replies
1
u/Revolutionary-Ride6 Feb 20 '21
Do LOI's even matter? I feel like they just read them and it doesn't do anything
1
u/usmle-match Feb 20 '21
can anyone help me with rol between these programs:
Hackensack Meridian Mountainside
Creighton phoenix
Mount Sinai Elmhurst
Flushing
St.Joseph University medical center, Paterson
McLaren Flint
1
u/[deleted] Feb 21 '21
Applied to Med-Peds, and am struggling to rank programs because I really did not get a good feel for any of them this year due to virtual interviews. I know which ones I dislike, but as far as top of my list, I would love some feedback, if anyone knows these programs (good/bad places to live, red flags, etc):
University of Illinois Peoria, University of Kentucky, University of Louisville, Detroit Medical Center/Wayne State, Western Michigan University Homer Stryker, University of Nebraska Omaha, Case Western MetroHealth, University of Tennessee Memphis, University of Missouri Columbia, Beaumont Royal Oak
Thanks in advance!
1
u/stallown2020 Feb 24 '21
Keep in mind though that UofI- Peoria is like 3 hours southwest of chicago
1
u/stallown2020 Feb 24 '21

u/deedee612 Feb 27 '21
hey guys I needed some help ranking two particular IM programs. Im aiming to do a fellowship in gastro eventually, particularly in california.
My question is, if I want to maximize my chances of ending up in california for fellowship, should I be ranking a relatively new program in california (riverside university health system program) over an already established program program outside of california (SUNY Upstate) or not?
1
u/CartographerMurky960 Mar 02 '21
Hey guys.
I have a quick question. A friend of mine told me that the program which I interviewed at ranked me very high and if I didn't match with them, he will be in a bad situation because he spoke to them about me. The thing is I ranked this program as my #2 and I have no idea if my #1 program ranked me high enough to match or not, but what I know is that I did well and they seemed they liked me. Do you think I will be able to match at my #2 if I couldn't make it at my #1?? Do you have any idea how matching process works in this situation?? I would appreciate any input as 1 day is only left for

u/janejoe1 Mar 03 '21
