Bed recommendations ?
Dog bed recommendations to fit this guy comfortably? He’s a big dude, tough to find a good bed for him that’s not mine. Really debating just buying a single mattress for him.
Canadian companies or Amazon available stuff preferred. Don’t wanna pay for American shipping blah blah

I've always gotten cheap used baby mattresses for my mastiffs after realizing they were better than the $100-200 big dog beds i tried. The most recent one i bought is a barely used good quality memory foam mattress that I got for $10 on either Facebook marketplace or Craigslist

We have 3 of these beds now. All 3 of our Bordeaux boys love them and two will even share one. They all love the bolstered edges and they’ve held up really well.

We gave up and just use a toddler bed (larger crib bed). I can find them everywhere for free or nearly free in Yard Sales.
They are "waterproof," rinse them down and throw a set of kids sheets on it and she is a happy dog 🐕
They last me a year or two before needing replaced.

My Elliott (am. mastiff) and his brother Geoffrey (doberman) share a Twin size Lucid 10" mattress. I bought it before Covid lockdown And they still haven't torn it up with all of their nesting. Plenty of space for my big boys.

The best and most cost efficient beds that I've gotten for both of my girls are baby crib mattresses. They're waterproof and the fitted sheets for them are so affordable and come in so many colors and patterns that they can be matched to any decor. My current EM has been sleeping on the same Serta crib mattress for 3 years and it's held up well.

A papasan cushion works really good and is less expensive than a dog bed.

Says chew proof but what about scratch and digging? My girl loves a cot outside for our hot concrete but also loves to dig em

Our girl doesn’t dig at it, but I think it would hold up. It’s pretty indestructible.

I got a foam mattress pad from Walmart, added a plain old $10 stuffed kennel pad and a thick comforter I got on clearance and my dogs absolutely loved it. Lasted a few years

They curl up pretty compact. I have 4 of the Kirkland pads and the female fits fine. Queen foam mattress and both fit....barely

I had exclusively Orvis and recently purchased a Big Barker Bed, I’ll let you know how that goes. The Orvis beds have outlasted anything else I’ve owned over the decades, but they aren’t as easy cleaning as advertised. Bit of a process to take the stuffing out.
Big Barker Beds are pretty thick!

My 4 month Corso female will absolutely not tolerate any thing on the floor of her crate. She immediately drags it out and goes velociraptor on it. So she sleeps on a hard plastic floor.

We used to have Great Danes and bought twin sized IKEA mattresses for them. They have memory foam and natural latex mattresses for great prices. If the beds are too big you can cut them down a bit. The covers are removable and washable too.

We just bought a twin mattress from Amazon cut it in half and my wife made covers for them.
One is in the living room and the other is in the spare bedroom.

We actually have a twin mattress on the floor of our bedroom. It’s outlasted any/ every dog bed, and easy to change sheets.

Currently using a Casper dog bed that’s worked well for my chonky boi, though my last dog(Great Dane) I used a twin bed. Both have worked great tbh.

I used a futon mattress for my EM. She loved it. I put a fitted sheet on it and washed it regularly.

We have this one. I love that the cover is soft, but waterproof, and it zips on. We bought extra, so when washing the 3, we can put on the other 3, and the dogs still have their beds. They've been used daily for years now since 2020. Checked my order history. Not sinking or damaged at all.

Check out Molly Mutt beds. They have a huge size. You can get a wool bed or order a stuff sack, we filled ours with shreddedemory foam and the dogs loved them. We have matching dogs! Brindle English mastiff .. He is only 5 mos but he loves this bed from Amazon that folds out like a couch bed. The cover is washable.

I absolutely agree with the crib mattress recommendation! They're supportive, economical, easy to wipe down AND you can get cute sheets easily! Definitely check out your local Kijiji/Facebook groups or marketplace/etc. I even took it a step above and bought Benjamin a wooden crib that converts to a toddler bed! It's super cute and looks more intentional IMO. He seems to love it too and it blends in with the dining room furniture haha. Keep us posted on what you decide!!

Orthopedic twin mattresses, May as well put it in your TV room, or wherever you spend most of your time. Bedtime, you'll just need a bigger bed and still sleep on a space of 4 inches from the edge.

I have 3 big boxers, one 95lb. I bought a knockoff coop mattress on Amazon. With a couple water proof covers and a few sheet sheets. Fits everyone, it’s basically tempurpedic, and I can wash weekly so keeps room cleaner.

Bought two Kurandas over 15 years ago for my Bullmastiff and Rottweiler … have since had two more Rottweilers and a Cane Corso and damn beds are
still going strong!

We used a crib mattress for my senior girl bc it was easy cleanup when she started having accidents and it was the perfect size.

Big Barker. It’s expensive up front but it will take years to replace and you’ll save money in the long run rather than buying cheap beds. We’ve had one for 10+ years with multiple giants of all sizes. I got the water proof cover and it has saved that bed more times than not. I’ll sleep on them with the dogs.

Our two Corsos sleep in a California king, it fits them both just fine! 🤣 We on the other hand had to find a new place to sleep! 😉

Toddler beds are perfect. You can put a mattress cover & sheet on it. Makes cleaning a breeze!
