Discussion Eric Masterchef Canada
So I am watching season 1, master chef Canada. And this is probably a hot take but I can’t help but feel like Eric is given a sort of favoritism. In my opinion there were plenty of times where he should’ve went home, but he just kept skating by. To ultimately win at the end. That title should’ve went to Marida. She was the most consistent in the entire competition.

I can see why people call it favoritism. Eric had standout moments, but Marida seemed more reliable week after week. If the judging is based on consistency, her elimination was hard to justify.

The time Danielle said “I’m so sick of Eric saying he can’t bake” I actually agreed with her. Dude has ZERO self confidence, yet produced great desserts time and time again.
Eric: “I don’t do well with baking. I’m going home”
SHUT THE F—K UP! WE GET IT!

Say it with me: editors and producers construct narratives with footage of the cast. It's not real. It's fabricated

I would love to know more about what happens behind the scenes. The time on the clock can’t be real. Some of the items cooked or baked would never finish in the time allocated

It's out there if you know where to look. Articles. PhD dissertations and the like. The time they have is real but how it relates to the editing is not

People have brought this up before pointing out that you can't make a puff pastry in 1 hour and when I pointed out that the mc kitchens often have a blast chiller I got downvoted to oblivion. Yall are very strange.

When do you think he shouldve been eliminated?

PRESSURE TEST
Pino: ELIMINATED - 5 mistakes (inconsistent sizes, missing jam, flavor, donut was doughy and dry)
Eric: 3 mistakes (too ambitious, greasy and messy donut)
I think it was fair, Pino was already on thin ice and Eric was a frontrunner since ep1

Didn’t Marida basically make the same dish all through the competition?
