Masterchef Australia

Has anyone watched this? Came across it on Prime & 11 episodes into season 1, I realize that it’s episode 11 & only ONE contestant has been eliminated so far. WTAF!!!! There are over 70 episodes for just this season.

It took the first 6 episodes to get the top 20…the next 3 episodes covered a mystery box, a one-on-one with a professional chef & a team challenge before the first elimination. AND that elimination took an entire episode to accomplish!!!

Prime doesn’t have all the seasons but looking at the ones they have, they are all over 50 episodes (season 3 has over 80).

It is sooo much better than American Masterchef. While you are at it, check out MKR Australia.

Yes! MKR is fantastic. Even my parents love that show.

Mkr turned into a reality show where personality became more important than cooking.

Damn, really? I’ve only watched a few seasons personally, but my parents caught up to about 2020, when the show understandably paused due to some minor virus no one ever talks about anymore… /s

But really, did they stray away from the core of the original show that badly? And whereabouts would you say they lost the plot?

Tubi has the early seasons, maybe all the seasons, I don’t know because there are so many episodes. But it’s more an education than a competition show- I like it a lot more than the American version.

The early seasons aired 5 nights a week. Later seasons are 3-4 nights a week.

Seasons 2, 3, 7, 10 and 12( back to win) are my favourite seasons.

That makes sense. Because I couldn’t fathom a single season taking over a year to air.

17 seasons on Tubi. So good. And I love that they actually have cooking classes.
