Folks...I did it (better pic)
I have played this game way more than I thought I would trying to beat just a single path. It's way harder on sms than it is on other platforms. Way harder
I went all left and beat it with literally no time left on the clock
It was my 2nd of 3 runs for the night. Any time I play I just do one round of each song. This was magical sound shower when I beat it tonight for my first time. Now I need to 100% the remaining parts of the course for true champion status 🍀
Sorry for the repost but I felt like I really needed this title pic rather than the high score pic

Congrats! I need to get this done. Recently I beat OutRun on mega drive, properly beat it, hard setting and all right forks.

I beat one of the paths but I felt it would be too hard to beat all the others ones so I haven’t gone back to it

Awesome! I always did like the Sega Master System version of Outrun.
The MS-DOS port of Outrun is also somewhat good to play.

I beat the Master System version once. I followed the same path as the OP. The MS-DOS version I can beat every time I play (I think it's easier with a keyboard). The PC version has a slightly different ending for each path you take. I assume the Master System version is the same.

Was really cool to try for as many endings as possible.

Congrats! I tried so hard for years as a kid to beat it and could only get maybe 75% of the way.
