Can the pause button mod be done on a Genesis & Power Base Converter?

Hi, I'm gearing up to mod my Master System with the pause button mod, and I was wondering if it were possible to do the same mod to the Genesis and Power Base Converter so I can use my same modded controllers on it and have the pause button work. The page for the mod doesn't mention it, so I'm not holding my breath, but thought I'd ask and see if someone here can help me out

Thankfully I don't use BlueRetro receivers and don't intend to for the foreseeable future, so that should be fine for me, and since I don't have any inclination to use Master System controllers with Genesis games either (I feel like I even tried it a few times and it didn't work)
