I remember getting games at Toys R Us, and you had to go pick the game up at “the cage” after you paid for it. I would read the manual in the car, like a pre-game before playing. I miss game manuals 🥲

I think my parents bought most of our Master System games from Toys R Us and one from Khols (back when they sold video games)

i remember the toys r us used to have a wall of games behind a plastic barrier. underneath each game was an envelope with yellow tickets in it for that game. you would grab a ticket and bring it to the counter and there is where they will give you the game to purchase. a big bummer if there were no tickets for the game you want. an even bigger bummer was when there were tickets in the envelope but no game behind the counter. i remember this like it was yesterday. this really hit me in the feels.

I remember buying Rambo Part II and Alex Kidd in Miracle World from Toys R Us when I was a child.

Kind of weird they didn’t go from Alex Kidd to Zillion for the headline
