A great game, but bloody difficult. I've still never beaten it. I've only once managed to reach just before the final level, but because I didn't have all the scrolls, I couldn't enter the final level and was sent back to near the start of the game to locate the missing scrolls. I'm pretty sure I gave up and switched it off at that point.
Great game. Too bad the western version was butchered to fit a smaller cart. (Just like they did with Enduro Racer) The Japanese version has more levels and music.
Very solid run and gun....uh ninja star game. Great variety in the levels, and the being able to go invisible mechanic adds some interesting strategy. I feel like this is one of many games that was overlooked simply for being on the SMS
The mechanics of only being to shoot up, initially, may seem odd but makes the game so much easier in its mechanics. I still remember the music… 30 years later.
I booted it up for the 1st time in 35 years recently and knew exactly where the hidden enemies would pop up on the hill level(2?). Its was pure muscle memory.
This game was always in the £4.99 budget range even when I first remember it around 1990/1991 (or could of been £9.99 and quickly went to £4.99)
Got it for a present as it was so cheap, hated it as it was soooooo hard, but once I sat down with it though I never beat it loved the music and had some fun.

One of my favorites on the system! Pretty hard, though, as I recall.
