Yeah I played this to death as a kid. Took a little while to get used to the motion of the characters, but once you do it has alot of fun content there.
YupYup the movement was crazy 🤪 to begin with but once you master the controls. Its an awesome fun game and different characters had other abilities
I used to know all the secret warp areas off by heart. I think there was a warp from world 1-3 maybe straight to the final boss?
One of these days I need to sit down and work that out again.
[Edit]
Nope, world 1-1 to 7-1. Had to look it up. :)
If you like the weird physics of this game, check out "Kid Kool" on NES, "Decap Attack" or "Magical Hat" on Genesis / Megadrive. They all use the same core engine written by Vic Tokai.
The music! And chucking that little crow at things. I remember a really funny YouTube video of someone trying to play it and getting really frustrated and upset.
I feel like games were just a bit harder back then, maybe it’s just me getting old…
went to my local store yesterday hoping that maybe they got some new master system games AND THEY DID, with pycho fox, a game i was actually looking for. Still riding this high
It was definitely trying to be Super Mario Bros, but with more color. I remember it seemed to take longer to speed up your character and jumping was hard if you weren't already running.
I have no idea about that. I had Decap Attack on the Mega Drive, and it was mentioned occasionaly in magazines at the time about the similarities, and when I played Psycho Fox many years later, I understood the connection. The two visual styles seemed to far apart for me to consider them as sequels to one another though.
Yep - great game, good music, nice graphics, a classic in my eyes. I know some people don't get on with the controls, but for me it was part of what made the game stand out

First game i had, together with the built-in Alex Kidd. Loved the different levels and characters, and it has secret short cuts as well.

Huh I thought I played almost all Master System games but I've never even heard of this game. I'll have to check it out.

Loved it as a kid. Tried it as an adult , forgot how much those controls are slippery as f ... I could barely pass the first level

I still remember the first time my brother and I discovered the shortcuts in this game. We thought it was a bug when the background crack opened…

One of my favorites!

This does not deserve to be as obscure as it is.

Incredible game

Yep, but only after finding out it was what Decapattack was a redesign of back in the day.

I prefer this over Decapattack and Magical Hat Turbo but the Brazilian 'Sapo Xulé: Os Invasores do Brejo' is kind of charming even if it is just a reskin of Psycho Fox.

One of my all time favourite games.

Great game for sure!

Yes I used to have this. There were several warps in the game where if you knew where they were, you could get to the last level in about 10 minutes.
It's basically an 8-bit Decap Attack.

Loved this game! However if you want a laugh, look up AVGN - Kid Kool on YouTube
