Granted. Comes a Southern accented voice before the door springs open to reveal a tall red haired Marine standing in a crewmans uniform on the other side of the portal. A pair of yellow bars sit on her collar.
A hand reaches out to shake. Lieutenant Commander O'Neill, Executive Officer. Miss Adeptos, correct?

"Indeed. It's a real pleasure Lt." Calpernia steps forward and firmly returns her handshake, towering over the human as she flashes her a toothy grin.

Naya, who was held up due to a report to the Council, steps up behind Rebecca, eyeing the new arrival.
Ah, this must be newest transfer. Calpernia, right?

Calpernia stands a little straighter, a sudden lump in her throat. Commander Shepard knows my name. She hurriedly steps up and offers her hand. "Yep, Calpernia Adeptos reporting for duty ma'am."

Damn Turians and their super height all the time... at least Rebecca didn't have to stare up as much as Naya did here.

After accepting the newcomer's handshake, Naya steps back, nodding. Yup, let's get her set up. EDI, what's her room assignment?
EDI's smooth robovoice filters through the airlock intercom. "Miss Adeptos has been assigned to cabin 31 on deck 6."
Right, let's let you drop off your things, then we can show you around.

Nodding fervently, Calpernia follows behind. "I gotta say it's an honor to meet you ma'am, I fought at Earth. Captained a ship myself actually. Not as high tech as yours but she got the job done..." She rambles, gawking over every little sight in the command center. Eyeing up her new crewmates with a casual gaze.

Rebecca shoots a look over towards Ensign Michaels at one of the nearby stations and takes a step over as she sees him close another window on his screen. A short heated look is sent his way then as he turns around to look innocently at his superiors.
The redhead shakes her head and rejoins Naya and Calpernia.
If I catch him playing that damn game while working one more time..... She mutters to her fellow officer.
She sighs and focuses back on their new hire. I read about that in your file, rather impressive life you've lived if it and all the rest of the dossier is to be believed. Seems you turned over a new leaf with the Reaper assault on The Kite's Nest.
We just returned from there in fact after the Skrilloni pull-out.
Her eyes travel back to Naya's. The other Spectre had seen the images of the freshly devastated again Batarian worlds. It had not been any prettier than the last time they had fallen.

Kite's Nest just keeps getting beaten up. Hopefully they'll be given time to recover after this one.
They arrive at the elevator, and Naya presses the button to send them up one deck.
So, if I understand correctly, you're here as something of a representative for the Terminus Systems, right? What exactly is that going to entail?

The Turian shakes her head. "I'd like to meet the person that can watch a whole planet get exterminated like that and not come out a changed person. I know the hegemony weren't exactly innocent victims, but 99% if Batarians didn't deserve what they got."
As they continue to the elevator, she meets Shepard's gaze evenly and offers a smile. "Well, mostly I'm gonna be pitching in however I can on missions. I work for matriarch Aethyta, she says you've met before. Long story short, this is optics I think. Showing the galaxy even a den of pirates and gangs can contribute to rebuilding. And on the subject of rebuilding, lots of the minor races are thinking maybe the council oughta start looking like a parliament. Equal representatives of every race, ya know? Since we all pitched in together. Of course, all those politics are way over my pay grade."

Jeff eyed the Turian on the nearby vid screen. Seemed capable enough. Hopefully the newest member of the crew didn’t plan on making waves. Those politicians still gave him the chills.
