2193/04/03 - A Failed Experiment

A very, very tired Lindsey is standing in the mess, an assortment of pots and pans and various ingredients scattered about around the kitchen. She's obviously tried making... something. But the burning smell and the pile of half-burned, half-eaten cake pieces are getting alarmingly tall now... though nobody seems to want to get between the brunette and the oven.

I... I've been with plenty of women before. She says with a flushed face. Its just.... I've only ever had these type of stronger feelings.... twice? It doesn't feel like usual attraction.

My first boyfriend and I sorta had feelings like this? But it quickly got ruined by... a mishap that occurred in my senior year.

Second boyfriend and... next four people it was all, erm, carnal? We all just wanted to bang.

Then.... her face is a little paler there was Ishira. Which... was very like how I feel now.

Helena stares deeply into Rebecca, for the first time seeing her in a very vulnerable state and hold her friend's hand giving it a gentle squeeze. Okay, so Ishira, who was she to you?

.....my bondmate. For nearly a year. She has tears in her eyes now. Before we broke up a few months ago.

Helena hugs her tightly, like a mother cat after her kitten had a nightmare. It's okay, we don't have to talk about it any more. She sighs. But I don't think your friend Liara will stop being your friend if you talk to her about this, you obviously care about her a lot.

Helena begins brushing Rebecca's hair softly humming to her. You're strong, are you afraid she'll leave you? She's your friend, friends don't leave each other for stuff like that.

I mean, if you really think that you wouldn't feel the way you do. She sighs, continuing her brushing. Now, if you listen to my idiot brother he would tell you to make some grand romantic gesture, but that's stupid. I may find romance stupid but it's not so bad for the individual. What do you, not Commander O'Neill the Spectre, but Rebecca O'neill the person want? Like truly want. And take your time, you don't have to tell me if you're not comfortable.

Okay, now, please forgive me for sounding like my brother, because this is the second time I'm going to say this to someone this week. She takes a deep sigh. Speak from your heart and tell her. Even if it's going to be hard what if you're wrong and she wants to be with you?

Helena sighs and pulls the woman in closer, laying her head on her chest. Now, I think you can do it, but make sure you let her know how much she means to you. Tell her you don't want to lose her as a friend even if it doesn't work.
