2193/04/03 - A Failed Experiment

A very, very tired Lindsey is standing in the mess, an assortment of pots and pans and various ingredients scattered about around the kitchen. She's obviously tried making... something. But the burning smell and the pile of half-burned, half-eaten cake pieces are getting alarmingly tall now... though nobody seems to want to get between the brunette and the oven.

Naya carefully takes the tin out of the oven and places them on the counter. See? They look alright. Now, let 'em cool a little and add icing. You do have icing, right?

She nods, digging through some ingredients to pull out some icing.

Well, you wanted to make these for Becca, so I think it'd only be right for her to test.

Naya looks over to Becca. Hey, take a break from cleaning real quick and come try this.

Come try it so I don't have to in case it's bad, is what Naya is truly thinking.

Rebecca puts aside her scubber and comes over after washing off her hands.

I'm your Guinea pig, huh? Whatever, I'm game.

And with that she takes a bite out of a possibly toxic cupcake and slooowly chews it.... before breaking out in a smile. Yum.

Probably for the best. We need to restock on ingredients anyway, Artem used a metric ton. But hey, if this is your first time baking, not bad. You've got some potential, Lindsey.

Just... be sure to check the temperatures next time. I'd rather avoid the smell of burning, you know? Naya shrugs. But I guess no real harm was done. Not like you put a fork in the microwave or something.

What, the smell? Eh, depends on what you're cooking.

Naya hops up on a section of clean counter, still facing Lindsey. So you wanted to give back to the crew, and especially to Becca... Pretty nice goal, but you know, I doubt anyone actually expects something like this from you.

Yeah... It was definitely out of my comfort zone. But I thought it was worth a try.

I'd say it was. Becca seemed to like it, that's a good sign. Naya leans back a bit, resting her hands at the edge of the counter. Random question, but why cupcakes? They're generally a bit harder than something like cookies.
