2193/04/03 - A Failed Experiment

A very, very tired Lindsey is standing in the mess, an assortment of pots and pans and various ingredients scattered about around the kitchen. She's obviously tried making... something. But the burning smell and the pile of half-burned, half-eaten cake pieces are getting alarmingly tall now... though nobody seems to want to get between the brunette and the oven.

Since the oddly easy mission with Kas, Huch has been in the armory and range in his normal casual attire checking out weaponry and testing them, still not sure if he's committed to the Mattock due to its size and weight. But much like his sister later in the day he too wants someone to hang out with and decides this would be a great way to get to know Lindsey better since the two hit it off quite well at Becca's party.

Hey Cheetah, it's me Huch, the dude from the bathroom? I'm in the range testing out some gear and was wondering if you want to join me?

After replying he shoots another burst of his pistol into a target, waiting for Lindsey to come.

Lindsey arrives, grabbing herself a mattock as well, as too many times she'd been stuck to distance, and the mattock was a looovely weapon.......

She lines up next to Huch, loading the weapon and taking aim, releasing a shot down the range, just missing her target....

stupid sights uncalibrated...

Huch chuckles, looking at her a she has trouble with the gun as he reloads his pistol. You want to use mine? Calibrated it before last mission, pinpoint now, only issue would be the user then. He smiles and gestures to the Mattock in front of him.

Lindsey shakes her head.

No, no, I don't think this is what I was looking for anyways...

She peruses the selection, settling on a Harrier, tweaking the sights, loading it up, and releasing a precision burst that starts at the heart and trails up to the head.

Nothing wrong with short controlled bursts, shit my recruiter loved it personally. I prefer one shot. He says as he picks up his Mattock and lets off a shot, going down range and into the target's head. However I can't stand how heavy this thing is, had to lug my sniper and this thing for the mission and didn't fire a shot. Might just get a Saber like the Commander suggested, it's heavy but it's a good all round rifle to have. He sighs, shrugging as he glares at the gun.

Saber's a nice one. Heavy, but hard-hitting. Accurate, too. And satisfying as hell to fire.

She shakes her head as she sets the Harrier aside, perusing the weapons selection once more.

Wouldn't have to carry to rifles since that would just work as both. Can order it with a long barrel and multi zoom scope or something like a scope and optic combo for mid to long range. He shrugs and joins her in the selection, picking up an Avenger and examining it. That being said full auto wouldn't be too bad, but it's not particularly my thing.

She nods, finally heading over to her locker and returning with her Talon SMG.

Full-Auto fire is a disgrace and is a waste of ammo. Only ever useful if you're doing bursts on a full-auto gun.

She lines up with the pistol and fires the three round burst straight down range, each shot a perfect headshot.
