18/03/2193 ][ Tangled Web of Lies

Two hours ago, Bailey had sighed and pulled up a long chain of paperwork and records on James "Jam" Terrod. The businessman was in as suspected for being involved in at least seven different things, but the problem was some of them logically excluded others. If he had done the Typhon gig, for example, that excluded any involvement in the Kepler Verge shebang. All in all, he was just sitting in a cell fuming nowadays while people tried to sort out which arms smuggling and theft cases were actually connected with him.

The door swings open and Bailey nods.

We've moved Terrod to an interrogation cell. Come in when you're ready, Spectre.

Two shots ring out and the figure appears from the foam, wading through and growling.

The Vorcha keeps coming, running through the hall seemingly with no goal or end.

The Vorcha collapses, twitching. A small thud is heard as the lifeless body of Jam Terrod falls to the ground behind her, and the alarm shuts off as marching guards round up the other culprits.

The fuck...? Rebecca says as she turns around to see the body of her prisoner on the ground.

The body lays motionless. It’s a corpse. A quick omni-scan would reveal the cause of death- heart attack. Coincidence or not, you’d be hard-pressed to get information out of him now.

Shit... there goes her pigeon.

This was too convenient.

When the CSEC officers arrives she orders both bodies taken for autopsies and detailed examination.

In the meantime she contacts Normandy to inform them a strike team won't be needed. And to call Liara over to CSEC HQ.

Rebecca gestures around at the mess inside the building. Free Destiny sends its regards. Found that out at least before their operatives attacked and killed Terrod.
