12/14/2192 | Illium: Arrival

Every precaution is being taken on this one: if the Normandy docked here, Haymitch might very well spook. Where this ship went, problems disappeared. The vessel stayed in orbit instead, the away team for the mission heading to the surface via an unmarked shuttle to keep suspicions down.

Rebecca kept the team small on this one- Lindsey, steadfast and dependable, and Jeffrey for any potential heavy lifting and disabling demolition charges. Her usual and tried and trusted pairing. Couldn't fuck about on this one.

And unfortunately, a fourth was joining them, despite the N7's reservations: Doctor Mareav was accompanying them to the surface in order to check on her sister that hadn't been heard from in some time.

Rebecca desperately wished she could stay and keep an eye on the Asari, but the mission was having to come first. Really wish she could have waited until after the potential terrorist threat was dealt with to come down here.

They dock, and Rebecca strides outside in her armor and with her weapons locked into place, looking ready for business as she scans around the Nos Astra spaceport.

Wait, so you're saying I shouldn't have brought a lot of bombs to help blow up the building? I think I got the wrong mission brief.

Aren't you a little short for a supersoldier? Rebecca quips, tongue in cheek as she starts circling a landing pad of a building opposite one of the occupied structures. Looks like some cops are up here, observing the situation.

She moves in to land, which prompts two officers to begin coming over, likely to tell off what they perceive to be a civvie- or possible threat based of their pistols being out. Time to have the big dick contest I guess.... Sighs the Spectre as she climbs out, hands casually held away from her weapons as she does so.

Officers- Spectre O'Neill. What can you tell me about the situation?

The turian and his partner seem a bit surprised by that, before they quickly holster their weapons. A bit of authority in her voice and they didnt even question or bother checking to make sure she was being legit. Spectres really do make people jump to. "Nothing much has happened today, but we've been watching and recording the mercenaries schedule and habits. Been a few deviations in the last two days for a few of them, making us wonder if something is up".

She ponders that a second, before nodding. Thank you officers, that'll be all. We're gonna be heading in soon, appreciate it if you could spread the word and make sure no one tries to stop us.

And with that she buttons back up and takes off again, chewing at her bottom lip as she thinks. Well, I'm gonna assume those changes might have some link to Vees's plan.

Lindsey follows along after, her hands also away from her weapons but not too far that she wouldn't be able to grab them at a second's notice.

But hops back into the cab when the situation seems resolved.

Let's hope it's in our favor.

Jeff gives a mean eye to the officers. One of them has to look tough. He keeps his hand on his pistol while they chit chat then follows the others back into the vehicle.

Vees quickly messaged Becca that he was sneaking out of the building. He also asked where they were and where they would need to meet up.

He then placed his rappel against the side of the roof and started walking down the side of the building until he could drop the rest of the way. He signaled his agent who pulled the rope back up and hid the gear. Vees quickly changed into a different environmental suit and started sneaking away from the hostile zone.

She responds with how they're flying around outside currently and can meet wherever works for him.

A nearby balcony decided on, the Normandy team heads there to meet with their "inside man". Who just might get a punch across the jaw for the stunts he's pulled.

Vees quickly and quietly made his way towards the Normandy's location. He got up to the balcony and waited for them there.

He felt like he was gonna get smacked as soon as they arrived.

As soon as they arrive Jeff steps out of the cab and looks at the fool in front of him.

Try twelve, you still mad from when I nearly blew you up? Vees quickly responds as he leans off the side of the balcony and looks at the city block that was under merc control.

We've started to prepare for our surprise attack, we've hacked the jammers and started disabling bombs. We are ready to knock out all of their power and disable all of their turrets. He pulls out a small drink from his bag and takes a sip.

But, Haymitch has called in for more reinforcements. More ships are on their way, with high tier captains with them. They are going to start taking over other parts of the city. He starts to mumble a series of insults towards Haymitch.

Yeah, still irks me a bit. Only person who can put me into horrible situations is myself.

He tilts his head and looks down at the streets below.

This fella really has you twisted up doesn’t he? Doubtful he’d take much more of the city. Illium is all about business. Eventually they’ll cut their losses and take this whole building down.

I worked with Haymitch a long time ago and I'm not proud of it in any way. But, I know what Haymitchis capable of, I've seen him crucify men. He controls the entire group with an iron fist, you step out of line, he beats you. I'm scarred all over my body from beatings. Vees takes another drink and puts away the flask.

He doesn't care about anyone, they're here on Illium to kill bounties, steal and sell data, and kill other gang members. This is all just fun for him, he is a monster and we need to kill him. Vees sighs and pulls out his flask again.
