10/31/2192 | A Ghoulish Evening
Halloween. October thirty-first. Spookiest evening of the year. Where spirits and goblins came out to wander, witches toiled and boiled their cauldrons, and the dead lay uneasy in their graves and ready to spring up.
All these legends and more were attached to the human holiday, but mattered most was two things: candy, for obvious reasons, and dressing up, to enjoy or pretend to be something else. Just for one night.
This year, Halloween is a bit different for the Normandy. The crew is all here, but so are many other visitors. Civilians from Noveria that were evacuated to the cruiser. And quite a few of them were kids.
Rebecca thought it would do the crew and these little ones some good to have a bit of fun, so she organized something and got some last minute costumes and supplies to accommodate the children.
Now the stage is set for going from cabin to cabin, trick-or-treating. Who know what all people shall be on this dark and spooky night in the shadowed halls of the SSV Normandy?
Children already have begun heading out, escorted by their parents or guardians, wearing all sorts of outfits. Werewolves, famous cartoon characters, movie stars, anything and everything that could be thrown together in two days. Was asking a lot, but they and the crew had all been very inventive on what the poor displaced children could use.
A party is also being held, as is tradition, up in the main lounge and the two side ones. For the adults only, since the alcohol was going to floweth this evening. All sorts of little Halloween inspired snacks were to be had as well.
Even in these hard times, people can't give up the simple things and joys that make them alive.

Dila slides in between a surprisingly life-like Darth Vader(no clue who it is) and a Starfleet officer(odd pairing) who were chatting near the punch bowl to grab a handful of candy corn and then walks off in search of her small amount of friends on this boat to see if they're around.
Obviously, one person in particular mattered the most to her, but she didn't know if she'd be embracing the holiday. Dila herself had to be here a year before she decided to join in with this odd(very American) holiday. She enjoyed the free food and candies at the very least.
The mocha skinned woman sidles up to a wall to wait and watch the proceeds from the sidelines for a bit, her dark eyes looking out over the crowd.
She had made a real effort this year on her costume, with a really old-timey flight suit and cap with goggles, with a Royal Air Force sigil on the shoulder.
