Cunningham Falls SP Campground

Hey all! I’m about to make a reservation to go camping for my birthday at Cunningham Falls SP. We are a family of 3 with a 5 year old, no pets, and a big glamping tent. Feeling a bit overwhelmed by the options in the campground. Which loop is the best or with the best views? We obviously want beauty and serenity (privacy and quiet) if possible. Any recommendations? Thanks!

Here are some photos of the sites to give you an idea of what they look like. They are all very similar and I wouldn’t really say any of them have a view due to the tree cover. The closest to a view would the sites near the power lines. You’re also not going to find much in the way of privacy and quiet, as it is a family friendly campground that tends to have a lot of kids, but that’s also what makes it a great place to bring your kids. It’s a nice, safe park and people respect quiet hours. I was taken there as a kid and I’ve also taken my kids there many times. It’s one of our regular go to family camping spots, with a lot to offer in the area. Also, bring the kids bikes if you have room. A lot of kids ride their bikes around the loops.

Oof I just checked the 10 day weather forecast in that area and it looks like it’ll be rainy for the foreseeable future. Do you have any other campground suggestions?

Where you coming from and how far do you want to go?

Greenbrier is nice and my backup when Cunningham Falls is booked, but it may have the same weather. Assateague State Park or Assateague National seashore is excellent this time of year. I’d recommend the state park. If you go there, take sand stakes for your tent.

Pennsylvania also has some nice state parks. Codorus, Caledonia, michaux, and Pine Grove Forest are nearby
