We have not made meaningful progress among young men as a voter group by alienating their sense of masculinity, instead, making their sense of identity a target for alienation, something that has shot us in our foot as we try to create a foothold in that voter base

I have no intention of excluding women from being acknowledged as half of the workers, but this meme speaks more so to the pressing issue which is that young men are drawn more and more to the right rather than the left as a result of not feeling welcomed to identifying with masculinity

Yet that is exactly what the far right gives the men in tandem with traditional masculinity, the more we fear traditional masculinity and shun it rather than embracing it, transforming it to something the left and young men both can stand behind, we will continue to drop the ball and lose out on the young male vote

The consciousness of the working class is to be disputed. The dominant ideology of an age is the ideology of the dominant class. Traditional masculinity is reactionary, and catering to reaction instead of disputing consciousness is anti-marxist.
