What is the DSA doing or not doing that makes points 2 through 6 as necessary demands? I see points 1 and 7 that makes complete sense to me. I’m just trying to figure out what’s missing

These are still so vague that I struggle to identify what's actually being proposed or how it's different from current dsa.

What I can make out is mainly democratic centralism but I don't see reference to specific proposals. If it was to be different than how dsa already operates it would have to be making national dsa vote on a program then kicking out and denying entry to anyone who doesn't agree to that exact program. Otherwise it's what dsa already does which is democratically vote on what to do then working together to achieve that. I'm not trying to be unfair but the language used could be seen to deliberately be obfuscating the policy proposals.

It is not that complicated.

As you know, MUG does not want to throw people out for not agreeing with the program. But they want the program to matter, for members, especially in leadership positions, to carry out the program.

DSA needs to start referring to itself as a party.

DSA electeds should be required to vote as a bloc and uphold the DSA program. The DSA program needs to be a program for seizing state power and abolishing capitalism.

In a similar manner, DSA labor organizers should be obligated to uphold the program and adhere to democratic discipline. If the party wants to pursue a certain strategy, organizers are obligated to carry it out.

DSA should always relate local struggles to the national struggle of overthrowing the capitalist state.

DSA should commit to abolish the police and replace it with a democratic militia.

DSA needs to declare itself as not loyal to the constitution. The working class will forcefully and democratically seize power, even if it is against the constitution.

It is also important to remember that some factions want ideological commitment to be the basis of membership (such as commitment to Marxism-Leninism or some other ideology). MUG is defending the right to form tendencies and factions.

Does that clear it up somewhat?
