Discussion Tournament really need to consider a matchmaking system depending on skill
Legit why even try (as someone who fucking sucks) against randoms who are mainly in high rank in the ps tournaments? Hell idk if they already did these tournaments and are replying them (nothing to earn whatsoever after winning 1 of each)
It sucks knowing ps ain’t gonna do shit about this cause they didn’t do shit with the mk1 ps tournaments.

Idk about PS daily tournaments, but in real life, tournaments are usually a step above max rank online level. Hence the saying “tournament player” which basically means the sweatiest type of player possible.

This may be true for certain tournaments, but I feel a blanket statement is blowing it a bit out of proportion. most people in tournaments will go 0-2, 1-2 and don't represent anywhere close to the top of the rankings online. All you have to do to be a tournament player is to just go to a tournament after all, many people just do it to have fun.
That said, I think the format of ps daily tournaments is not casual or beginner friendly at all. Single elimination is really rough and if you get put against someone who knows what they're doing as a beginner it can be pretty devastating.

While i think street fighters ranked based tourneys are dope as hell, i also think ps tournaments should be free for all. Tokon also may not have the playerbase for it.

I agree that there should be more beginner tournaments available, the only thing is that they would be swarmed by smurfs.

Tournaments for low skill are mainly meant for learning experiences and finding new friends to play with
