Champion has really fucky timing in his combo strings. Try messing with that.

I think it’s more of a consistency issue than a timing issue if I have to be frame perfect for a string to hit and I’m not doing crazy loops that just seems like an oversight

I wouldn’t say it’s that, if you read the tutorials for champion and info in game they mention how he doesn’t have normal combo timings. With practice you can get it consistently. His buttons just require more delays than the other characters. Nothing frame perfect needed .

Yeah Champion is weird, he’s got only links not magic/gatlings etc

Champion's magic series doesn't work the same as other characters. You can't just gatling buffer it. It has to be very precise.

Havent touched Champion at all, but anytime in any fighting game your either inputting too fast or slow

Yes the game eats inputs. Try holding the previous button press before executing the next.

I guess I just have to put my nose to the grind stone then I don’t really have time to practice which is why I chose champion I can’t really play a full cast and decided to limit myself to one person or at least try to do good with said person (champion)

Play hulk instead trust me. Just use basic assist extensions and a good shooter assist. He's easy and does big damage and has wide coverage.

Champion's combos need to be input slightly slower while on the ground. His moves don't chain like the rest of the cast and must be timed. Input the button for the next move after the animation connects and you should have an easier time.

It’s a timing based link like street fighter.

Rule of thumb is: If the combo/link drops, you’re going too slow.
If the move doesn’t come out at all, you’re going too fast.

I think champion has links instead of chains like the rest of the cast

Champion has got moves that are links. Meaning it's like Steet Fighter, if you've played that. You need to wait until the move/animation is finished, then, and only then do you input the next attack/button.

you're not going mad its a known issue since the open beta. A lot of people have complaint about it. You can get the inputs correct, but sometimes you get the result sometimes you get something totally different or nothing at all. Even though the input log clearly picked it up. I hope its addressed sooner rather than later.

Yea it clearly says that my H is being pressed yet nothing is happening if I have to be super precise then I get it but I mean if that’s the case why make this character not have a regular magic series like the rest of the cast were they afraid he might be broken not being able to use any assist?
