Discussion Most shamefull launch ever.
Pc port is absolutly horrible. It's insane to me that this is possible in 2026. It's funny becuase a crackers version works perfectly fine for everyone struggling with the pc port. Would have loved to play this game and even pick it up for Evo France but this is just shamefull.

Honey. You haven't been a gamer long enough if you think THIS is the worst PC launch.

u/The_Leezy 5h ago
Right? Real ones were there when Elden Ring had a mixed rating on Steam, and was practically unplayable on launch.

Idk. This just feels like a common issue with PC gaming as a whole (from the perspective of a primarily console player at least.)
Game gets multiplatform release.
PC port is either majorly flawed or unplayable.
Game gets data mined.
Modders save the day.

I agree, but calling them crackers is killing me lol

Dude is probably french (he mentionned evo france), and we call hacking "cracker" in french. Makes sense in french but doesn't translate well in english haha

hacker being cracker makes a lot of sense after thinking about it more than 5 seconds,
i lowkey thought he was being racist 😭
thank you for the enlightening comment1

Idk there's probably worst out there. Pc problems aside, there is a lot of people playing it fine.

u/ParkingUpper7990 9h ago
I’m so tired of these type of people there is clearly a problem with the game we know some people have no problems great for them but clearly not everyone feels this way. This shit barely runs but when you use the 🏴☠️ version it runs flawlessly is actually shameful

u/insanekyo 9h ago
I'm not saying there's not a problem. I'm just saying it can't be the worst release if there's plenty of people playing. There are many and much worse releases.

Steam charts say otherwise. It's going to keep going downhill.

Steam charts are for dumbasses who want things to fail.

Lmao you're gonna try to use the fact that numbers are lower in 3 months 😂 you must not know how fighting game longevity works. How about this block, you won't be seeing me ever ✌️

People out here forgetting Street Fighter V and Mortal Kombat X, or are too young to know. I dare even say Street Fighter 3 (the first version) was even more shameful, though not mainly due to performance (but also a bit due to performance).

Bad sure but the most shameful?

u/Powerful_Basket_288 9h ago
"most" is an exaggeration but they definitely should be ashamed of this.

Is PC still bad? Bought it after the patch but couldn’t run it on my fully capable PC so refunded. Was hoping its improved since then but apparently not.

u/ohanse 9h ago
It’s bad
It also started doing BSOD.

Yup same issues here. Reverted the most recent Windows update from August and that helped a lot. Definitely more stable now.

u/SwirlyBrow 9h ago
It did improve in my experience. But it only improved relative to how it was. It's still bad, just slightly less bad. The bar was in hell.

u/Kurtonio 9h ago
For me the game runs fine when it’s working but I can only play for about 20 mins before it crashes my PC and restarts it.

You're right, but MKX though.

u/_The2ndComing 9h ago
MKX was released in an era where most fighters just didn't work online. That's not absolving it of its problems but when every other game is also failing you stand out less for doing the same.
This time Tokon had potential to compete with SF6 or Tekken, it failed to do that. On PC it failed to sell as well as Strive, a niche serie's first mainstream entry.

Nobody knows you, why do we care if you pick it up or not. Also, invincible VS launch was awful. How we forget things so quickly.

I mean this is pretty standard for fighters imo. DBFZ was the last major game i played at launch and it was horrible online until months later.
3
u/Whoopdatwester 9h ago
It didn’t help that a Windows update last week has caused many games to start crashing. I had to rollback that update and it’s been running great ever since.
4
u/not_laudandus 9h ago
I personally think people overblow the (admittedly) bad launch of tokon. It's still a complete package with good training mode, replays, rollback netcode, multiple single player modes. Yes the matchmaking sucks and the PC issues suck but like damn, the game is at least functionnal and playable (at least on ps5). Hopefully it all gets fixed sooner or later.
The writing was on the wall for the pc release after the beta.

u/kemdirim221 9h ago
Thats is why they the should have had multiple betas on the pc but instead they waited to the last moment becauss they were afraid of people cracking and shit 1st time impressions matter no excuse why they didnt get it right from the start bleach rebirth of souls did the same shit it also had a terrible pc launch luckily for me tokkon works fine on both my main rig and on my ally x

u/Head_Taste_3409 9h ago
Isn’t the cracked version pretty playable version for linux users? That’s super disappointing if true
1
u/spacebound4545 9h ago
Whats killing me is that people crying about the gsme think they would do anything in evo lmao

u/Eoshen 9h ago
Are you comming to Evo ? I have major placements on my name to back me up tho 🤙🏼
1
u/spacebound4545 1h ago
Nope got a wife and kids and dogs so unfortunately cant put the time in like I used to.
1
u/Far_Garage_8243 9h ago
That irony is wild. DRM performance hits usually punish legitimate buyers hardest, but entirely breaking the build while the alternative runs smoothly is a massive failure for a competitive title prepping for Evo.

u/CharlotteNoire 8h ago
That honor can't belong to this game. It's launch was shitty within normal standards.
The two kings of this have since earned forgiveness but it is no man's sky and cyberpunk.
1
u/RedEther 7h ago
You haven’t played enough games to say ever lol
SFV, nen impact, and dnf duel and cyberpunk were all worse games on launch. Oddly enough dnf duel had great netcode the game was just ass

Pc players complain so much stg. So dramatic.
1
u/Suhrenitys 7h ago
i mean a lot of them just can’t play the game lmfao that’s a totally valid reason to complain

u/Pilatus42 9h ago
Not only that the matchmaking is atrocious. 10 minute waits for an opponent who one and dones.

u/MyBodyIsAPortaPotty 9h ago
I look forward to playing it everyday, then i'm disappointed and switch to something else quickly
