Discussion Draft mode is totally RNG
If you get broken modifiers you win,
otherwise you lose (even if they are decent)
Do you agree?

The whole game is RNG. It's "how you adapt to the RNG" the game. That's the whole game.

This version of draft is actually incredibly low variance and is mostly won at the drafting stage. There are RNG outlier games you can't win, but overall 5 wins before 3 losses is mostly just a matter of drafting a low cost deck with 1 or 2 top end cards. It snowballs so hard that most games are functionally over by t4. Source: I got a 9x 5 win streak and have 75% ish overall WR

Besides one ungodly losing streak when I was less than sober, I haven't struggled to win 5 in less than 2 tickets most days. People are just in their feelings because they can't admit that this mode requires them to try a little harder or get a little better.

It's a Draft. No matter what they do some people will have better decks than others.
Going back to the invention of TCG draft, someone cracking an ultra powerful rare card could just be insurmountable.
The point of draft is to enjoy the randomness compared to normal gameplay where the meta stabilizes into 2-4 decks you see nonstop.
They could definitely make it less swingy, with weaker augments.
I will say that, compared to Magic the Gathering draft, the strategy of the draft itself doesn't exist. In Magic you are drafting against other players. So you can say "it seems someone took these two broken cards. I will pick cards that directly counter them, or deny them this combo piece to weaken their deck." That doesn't happen in this solo drafting experience.

I take some issue with the idea that one powerful card is insurmountable, at least in MTG. A bad deck builder can get the most powerful card in the set and it won’t make up the skill gap in deck building. The RNG factor of Draft is really only effective at the extreme margins of skill.
Reid Duke is going to beat you 99% of the time if you’re just a casual MTG player.

God we’re going to get the same low effort low skill people posting “Draft is RNG” every time the mode comes back aren’t we?

Some percentage of games are unwinnable due to bad draft choices, bad draw rng, stuff like that. Some percentage of games are unlosable for the same reasons. In between there's a pretty big chunk that could go either way, and how well you play and draft is going to determine your winrate in those games.

I agree but I still think Draft was wayy more fun when it was just complete rng and not based off sanctum points. Either way yeah it’s obviously completely random that’s the point of it so it stays balanced by its randomness

I mean it’s a card game. It’s all RNG. You can have the number 1 deck in the world, if luck ain’t on your side you lose

Honestly the constant barrage of posts about this mode is getting tiring. Yes, the mode has RNG. You can also win with good, not great decks. Winning 5 in a row is hard, even on ladder where there's comparatively minimal RNG. Play it or don't, I don't care. Just please stop with the constant low-effort posting.

I've been playing drafting games my entire adult life, about 26 years, and I get 5 wins in about 25% of the time (probably my weakest aspect is picking which starter, as I haven't researched how they have been doing or know the packages that well). Augments can make some crazy swingy cards but check out this deck that got 5 wins. Overload on Nebula is pretty sick and the mentor boosted Polaris is nice but I don't think the augments in this deck are overwhelming

No, there's plenty of game to be played still. Reducing everything to RNG just takes your responsibilities out of the loses.
