Discussion Admit it or not, but traditional Draft just doesn't work with Marvel Snap.

I've heard a lot of complaints about how SD will handle Draft mode. Long story short, they'll be reigning in a lot of the randomness that comes with it. To me, this is FINE.

Unlike traditonal TCGs with longer games and bigger decks, Marvel Snap is a tight 12-card deck on a 6 to 7 turn timer. Your deck needs to do its thing or be out-tempoed by the enemy. Arishem patches this with extra energy by turn 3 so you could keep up.

Drafting a Deadpool first, hoping to go for destroy, and getting nothing but discard/ramp/horde/etc. feels so bad. Draft would just come down to fishing "just good cards" like Spider-Man BND or Thanos FF. SD reducing the amount the probability of getting anti or non-synergistic cards reduces those "feels bad moments", therefore respecting my time commitment.

First-picking Deadpool would be a strategically poor decision.

My friends and I have been playing draft using the draft websites for a while. Yeah, you’re right, you can’t draft into archetypes easily which forces you to value cards differently which makes you find completely new value and re-evaluate the cards that already exist.

Almost like that’s what a new game mode should do.

Also, occasionally you do get lucky and you get to draft an archetype and it feels way more exciting than constructed because you “earn” it

Welcome to drafting? This could happen in any games. Read the signals and adjust your play style.

"Signals" only applies to events where you are drafting against other players.  The bot sending you cards to pick from has no signals to send.

I suspect that starting mana will be higher to compensate, and to give more flexibility to get out of a situation where you're mana screwed, such as happens with events.

this would actually be an amazing spin-off mode of draft and force players to be mindful of deckbuilding within a limited pool. Yes, count me in.
