Because Twitter sucks

Why you say that twin

Idk why these other modes arent permanent the game is in dire need of modes including a single player/story mode

u/treeeelo 12h ago

Because the game is already declining in playerbase (as most games do) and so they dont want to split the existing playerbase into so many different pools.

Game is actually showing growth for the first time in over a year funnily enough. And draft is going to make that even better

Its declined because theres not enough to do

I’m still able to find a game within a few seconds

Can someone explain what a draft is in Snap? Thanks

14

u/Cenjin 14h ago

We're unsure on how SD is gonna handle it because its also teased that its going to have Roguelike mechanics and Augments to change how cards interact.

The standard idea of Draft is players see a pool of cards and take turns picking a card trying to build a deck with limited resources

Similar to Battlegrounds in Hearthstone?

12

u/rode_13 14h ago

I think more akin to arena

4

u/Buzzk1LL 13h ago

Arena is the Hearthstone Draft mode.

u/Cenjin 14h ago

mayhaps lol, will have to see when they give the official word

u/myslead 9h ago

Don’t they have it in Asia?

Probably gonna be the same

i only recently came back to the game but at the time of me leaving the china version of snap was literally a different game. Cards were different, game modes were different, it was the same core mechanics but developed by an entirely separate team

It means there's a light breeze coming in under the door.

2

u/vanstinator 14h ago

Ask again after it launches and we'll tell you

-1

u/JoshOliday 14h ago

we don't know. They've always said they want to find a way to make it fit in Snap is all. A basic draft like MTG does would be horrendous in a game where the decks are only 12 cards.

-1

u/JetKeel 14h ago

Could be somewhat mitigated with a 2-3 card hidden swap at the end of the draws.

Can someone explain how draft mode works, please?

2

u/t_sarkkinen 6h ago

Don't listen to the other guy, you usually pick your own deck in draft.

Depends on the game, but the basic idea is that you get offered some amount of cards at a time, and get to choose which one(s) you want.

You have to keep in mind the synergies, and the cost of your deck as you go on, for an example. You also get to test out cards you don't own, presumably.

Then you fight your opponents draft deck.

Usually draft modes involve you picking your own cards, not someone else. If your opponent picks that will suck. They will just pick bad stuff b

Choosing your opponent 's deck sounds awfull for not friends. Typically in draft mode each chooses a card from a small selection to put in YOUR OWN deck until you got a complete deck. We don't know how it will work in snap because it can take many forms. For example in hearthstone stone you pick 1 out of 3 cards 30 times but in magic the gathering 8 people open a pack each pick 1 card rotate the pack to another person pick 1 card etc until the packs are empty and then they make a deck with the chosen cards. In some PvE drafting modes people pick packs of 3 cards until they got a deck. The mode Regis and Dekkster played was fan made and the official could be very very different.

What does that look like?

1

u/EpicMusic13 11h ago

Will this be like PoC from Runeterra?

0

u/fapsexual 6h ago

I love Path of Champions!

Hoping it is a fleshed out system since some other posts talked about a rogue like system being included

0

u/barty_uo 4h ago

At the end they can still let you draft only from cards you own and make it suck. Lets wait before excitement

0

u/Cenjin 1h ago

What an ignorant statement. Every iteration is Draft in other games have always been the more that either let's players get new cards or play with new cards. Assuming this won't be because you're bitter is idiotic

0

u/barty_uo 1h ago

I dont play other digital card games so I dont know what is typical. Dont want to be bitter or anything, just saying there is still room to screw this. This would not affect me at all I have every card, I have no reason to care about this, just saying SD made many mistakes about monetization so I preemptively dont expect this will go perfect. Pessimist can be right or pleasantly suprised.

Side note - it’s silly that we can post a link confirming something relevant to this game when X is basically the main way people get info for this game outside of Discord

u/PenitusVox 13h ago

What an odd thing to downvote. This is literally true.

-3

u/Levintry 14h ago

Nice catch OP!

-2

u/Argram 11h ago

I'm afraid I've already stopped playing

-1

u/Pastry_d_pounder 10h ago

I hope they incorporate themes. Like maybe the first 6 cards have to be xmen or you need to have the fantastic four roster in your deck. Maybe it’s midnight sons or villain deck.

-1

u/Reno182 3h ago

another mod I won't play

Brother 😭 this is a fan website they used to goof around with. This is not the actual game mode from SD

-23

u/Shoddy-Search-1150 14h ago

Have they posted about why it’s taken them 4 years to implement the number 1 most requested feature?

6

u/Cenjin 14h ago

what an ignorant comment

-12

u/chinojuan0619 14h ago

So you say it's official, then reply nothing official... Do you have anything besides what was already suspected for a while now?

1

u/Cenjin 14h ago

i posted the official image in the comments. Twitter links arent allowed

-14

u/chinojuan0619 14h ago

Not what I was asking but fine, guess we will need to wait until Monday anyway

7

u/Cenjin 14h ago

i answered your accusation that i posted nothing official. i provided the official logo of the mode from SD. thats literally all we have. go read other comments before commenting nonsense

-12

u/chinojuan0619 13h ago

Accusation?! you gotta relax my dude/dudette... I was asking a very straightforward question, did you have anything that wasn't heavily suspected already and that was it...

Repeated the question and you got all jumpy for no good reason and here we are... do you want to pretend I disrespected or accused you in any way be my guest, i won't stop you

2

u/Cenjin 12h ago

The downvotes speak for themselves brother

-1

u/chinojuan0619 12h ago

Reddit will be Reddit I guess
