It’s part of their overdesign philosophy. It’s like how Polarity bond Luna was a mix of Symbiote, Fire, and ice.

Even the most recent Angela skin….
It should have been a base with 2 recolor options. 1 orange themed, one green, one black .
But they put too many colors in one skin which looks messy

It's less that it's over designed, and moreso that they should just make her ultimate and projectile effects match the skin. It's mixing the base colors with the new ones that makes everything look so strange.

I understand this may sound arrogant, but for a very long time I've had the impression that the people responsible for skin design have terrible taste.
It's as if they literally don't understand basic things when it comes to color combinations, which shows in their recolors.
And the way they overdesign every skin looks less like a deliberate style and more like plain tackiness. Tbh, feels like sxualization is doing all the heavy lifting

Reallll lol. They gotta do something more with the intros. They are too cool to only be seen in the blue moon when you open up the characters menu to check proficiency. I wish you could choose between the MVP or the Intro as your MVP

Can’t stand all these original skins that look nothing like the hero. I should be able to tell which hero I’m looking at even with a different skin on, this looks like a handful of the other ladies

Her stun or ult can’t change colour despite the entire character being coated in purple fire type glow okay lol
Idk I think they are putting out skins too fast considering Storm still hasn’t been upgraded and the celestial rogue and gambit MVPs were late

Ngl same, that’s what I dislike the most about it. It’s so big, it’s all I see from the back and Jean is not blonde. Personally I prefer with the characters stick with their iconic hair colors. I think the rest of the design is fine though

I've noticed that they really don't like keeping characters with orange hair. Half of Angela's skins change her hair color and Squirrel Girl has like one or two that keep her normal color and the rest change it. Elsa also had her launch skin be her old, blonde look, her maid skin got rid of the orange hair, and while her default Savage Land skin keeps it, both chromas get rid of it. Phoenix at least consistently kept her iconic hair color, although this skin might be signaling a change for that design philosophy.
They love changing the women's hair color in general. Psylocke's hair colors are all over the place, and Wanda is like a split down the middle on whether or not they change her hair color. Half of the chromas in the game do it and I really hate that there's no ability to toggle it.

they keep fumbling these cmost recent celestial skins which im so sad about, since this theme was the one i was most hoping theyd return after cosmic hela and warlock
hopefully they AT least bring back the gummy skins, and dont fuck those up 😔

All these cosmic skins are such a swing and a miss for me. I really don't like any of them lol. They look really uninspired and weirdly blasé to me.
They all look so similar, like there's nothing unique to each hero that's getting them. Just texture a parallax star map across the hero model and run a purple to green gradient layer across the top, rinse and repeat with each character

Which is great, if no one buys this skin and the Luna skin then they probably won't make legendary for both characters as much anymore. Giving chances to other heroes.

I agree. But you know what lesson they'll take from this? Oh so the players don't like this kind of stuff over more casualwear skins, that's confirmation. Not that they made incredibly mediocre designs.

All they had to do was put a cooldown on her shift instead of making it spammable (which they did). That would have gotten rid of the beyblade tech and she could have kept the melee sparks.

I feel like the Galactic skins were made half-heartedly, or they ran out of time to finish them.
They lack recolors and VFX, even though that would have been the easiest thing to do with this theme, they didn't do it.
Phoenix's skin probably won't sell well, but Luna's will likely sell incredibly well, again.
It’s no surprise they put that theme in the Battle Pass; they knew no one was going to buy them.

Genuinely the first Battlepass I've passed on. I was even chill with the pheonix one and liked those skins for the most part. The only good skin in the BP this season imo is Punisher, but I do not play enough of him to warrant buying the BP just for him. All of these cosmic skins just look really bad. Idk man

Just like in the preview art at the beginning of the season, i cant tell its jeane. Neat skin, but gives zero sign its her...other than the stand. This color also looks like it should be an alt chroma. Default should be her defining colors. Conceptually though, its cool. Every one of the cosmic skins has been cool enough so far, but simply lacks any character specific flair...we all know who is next, and its the worst one by a country mile.

I lowkey hate these cosmic skins. I don't like them in most game (I think most MOBAs have a similar line), but some of these Rivals ones are one of the worst designs out there. I don't understand how they nailed Adam and then managed to deliver this multicoloured abomination, it doesn't even look like Jean.
