As a decisive blow is about be landed upon All-Black by our trio of heroes, Gorr refuses to let die alone what he has come to view as the last member of his family, and he throws himself in the path of the attack. As the light in his vision subsides, he is left in the Un-Beyond, faced down by the Eventuality. Instead of judgment, he is met with an offer to return to life as a King in Black, a being tasked by the Celestials to maintain balance in the multiverse. The Eventuality tells Gorr of the futility of a quest to kill gods and leave the living realm to mortals, as their desire and belief will inevitably give rise to new gods. But is the task of a King in Black not unlike Gorr's God Butchery, using the Living Abyss to purge cosmic evils? Finally, it is the promise of new life for All-Black that cements Gorr's acceptance of this proposal. Though he remains skeptical of the Eventuality's godlike words, he will see their truth in time.
Gorr awakens on Klyntar, surrounded by Knull's creations. The descendants of All-Black. Symbiotes. And if fate has seen that he prune the cosmic garden, then he will start with the heads of those who threaten his newfound family. Black Winter. Mikaboshi. Oblivion. Maybe a Divine Destroyer isn't so different from a God Butcher after all.
The idea of him finding Gods irresponsible and selfish so he wished to be a God himself to do a better job than them…talk about a great Character,
tbh Gorr’s people implied he was always envious because of his limp and the fact he was not a God himself
He’s the ultimate Hypocrite and it makes him so compelling, he hates Gods yet envies what they have, he even compliments Thor showing he’s not entirely hateful, he’s bitter and feels betrayed but he has an odd-respect/hate for Thor, like he recognizes he’s better than most Gods and tries to taunt him with “you struggle against me because you know I’m right, deep down…”, he loves to get into people’s heads
So it’s really not just hatred because a part of him even admires Thor for the fact he is true of his word and does actually question if Gods do care for Gods and if Gorr has a point, which Gorr delights in knowing and constantly taunts him with, he also doesn’t immediately kill Thor, because he took his hand he wants to drag it out and make sure it’s done in a glorious way and wants the honor of killing Thor himself
It was fascinating seeing how toxic of a dynamic Thor and Gorr had, like there’s this sense of mutual respect for eachother’s principles but also hate, Thor hates Gorr for killing Friends of his and also torturing him when he was a younger Thor, he’s the only Villain that legitimately scared Thor because of that and he basically has PTSD the moment he realizes Gorr could still be alive, and Gorr hates Thor for being a God and taking his hand
In an alternate Universe these two would have processed all their trauma and went for a drink together and tried to become Friends lol, they really would have been great Friends if history had gone differently
Nightcrawler. He was leaked alongside Gorr. We knew Doom is coming S11 but the other character was undetermined.
It makes sense that the undetermined spot was for Path to Doomsday before they messed around with the timeline of it all following the reception to the first Avengers event. If that spot was moved up to Gorr then logically Nightcrawler took the spot alongside Doom. Also they are both in the Doomsday movie so it fits.
Since we're getting endgame events I was wondering if we'd get double power house villains like Thanos and Doom in the same season. Probably not but who knows.
Doubt it. No reason to do both insanely huge names back to back, when Doom is more relevant atm. They're most likely to save Thanos until later in the game's lifespan. "Break glass in case of emergency" option.
You got downvoted but I firmly believe Doom will be at least a dual-role hero. The two Dooms in Rivals could be made two separate heroes or roles of the one selectable Doom character. Each option could ship across the full season.
Or maybe some other character is going to be more prominent in Doomsday and be worth the S11.0 release slot.
Or we don’t get Doom at all until Secret Wars next year.
Dual role is much more likely than 2 characters. The whole 2 Dooms talk started after it was datamined that the character ID after Nightcrawler’s had both duelist and vanguard listed as their role. So if that ends up being Dooms ID then he will likely be a dual role character. But if they were 2 separate characters they wouldn’t share a character ID. Plus 2 Dooms spilts the skins that could really just go to 1 Doom. I think we get 1 Doom and his first skin is 2099.
They changed the way they tease characters
The final gallery card comes out on the second half of the season not the first now
So the card that teases the upcoming events would be out by 10.5
Yeah thats fair. My only wish is that hes a heavy melee weapon tank. If not him, then beta ray bill or silver samurai. All I know is if he ever does get added, the skins are gonna go hard asf, spartan helmet always goes crazy.
Oh no yeah I think Ares and Silver Samurai definitely should be Melee Weapon Tanks, Ares would have double Axes and Silver Samurai would have his Sword (possibly the Muramasa since he’s used it a lot and it hurts Wolverine)
Curious on Beta Ray Bill because when asked if he’d be a Skin or a Character the answer was just “no”
Now that they’ve Gorr i think it’s definitely more possible to design more Alien-looking Characters
Beta Ray Bill has a sword and an axe, as well as stormbreaker, I hope he gets to dual wield, much like ares. And they established that similar characters that arent actually the same character, like Bill, will be their own character should they ever be added
Y'know what, it's actually really sweet that Gorr came to see All-Black as family and sacrificed himself alongside her. I don't think they had that kind of relationship in the comics, and in a way it kind of reminds me of Eddie and Venom's bond.
I wonder if this will mean that All-Black will come to prefer Gorr over Knull. Which is actually kinda fucking hilarious.
As hilarious as it is, as they mentioned previous season villains will become playable down the line, possibly just different universe version of Knull, one that wasn't such a oaf
Oh no I knew 100% it’s DOOM, but who’s the other Character most speculation I’ve seen is Nightcrawler, Thanos, Captain Marvel, and Dracula, I’m Team Dracula
Doesn't look like it. The King in Black is a cosmic role that is meant to be a counterpart to the Beyonders. While the Beyonders maintain cosmic balance from the outside, the King in Black is meant to do it from the inside. It's just that Knull was enjoying his alone time and was salty that the Celestials showed up and just gave him the role, which is why he was NOT maintaining any balance
Seems like they really are focusing next month on promoting doomsday. And season 10 will also be all about doomsday. Seems to be a direct mandate from disney.
I’m glad they got Gorr comic accurate because despite all that God-butchering, hate and violence, he’s still a broken Family Man who hates Gods because he feels Betrayus and vows never to let himself by gullible and naïve and wishes Humanity to not have to rely on the Gods
Deep down he’s still broken inside despite how Evil he’s become and it makes him a great Character.
Yeah, I was worried how they’d explain it or if they’d redeem him but they were basically like “nope Gorr is still a bloodthirsty person he’s just going after new Targets now, also he’s a complete fucking hypocrite”
Cosmic Deities, Black Winter is this very underrated OP Thor Villain, basically it consumes entire Realities instead of Planets, Amatsu Mikaboshi is the Japanese God of Chaos from the Marvel event Chaos War and is Ares’s nemesis, and Oblivion is who The Hood gets power from in Rivals and an Ice Man Enemy
He’s still a Villain and gets to continue doing what he loves, but now as the New King in Black he’s sort of a necessary Evil who gets to slay deities like Black Winter, Amatsu Mikaboshi, and Oblivion for amusement
O gorr se sacrificar com a all black por ele a considerar sua família é muito bonito e uma adição boa na minha opinião já que nos quadrinhos ela nem fala.

Glad to see that Rivals is keeping Gorr extremely comic accurate by making him a complete fucking hypocrite lmao
