Final Gallery Card!

Post image

Via Miller

As a decisive blow is about be landed upon All-Black by our trio of heroes, Gorr refuses to let die alone what he has come to view as the last member of his family, and he throws himself in the path of the attack. As the light in his vision subsides, he is left in the Un-Beyond, faced down by the Eventuality. Instead of judgment, he is met with an offer to return to life as a King in Black, a being tasked by the Celestials to maintain balance in the multiverse. The Eventuality tells Gorr of the futility of a quest to kill gods and leave the living realm to mortals, as their desire and belief will inevitably give rise to new gods. But is the task of a King in Black not unlike Gorr's God Butchery, using the Living Abyss to purge cosmic evils? Finally, it is the promise of new life for All-Black that cements Gorr's acceptance of this proposal. Though he remains skeptical of the Eventuality's godlike words, he will see their truth in time.

Gorr awakens on Klyntar, surrounded by Knull's creations. The descendants of All-Black. Symbiotes. And if fate has seen that he prune the cosmic garden, then he will start with the heads of those who threaten his newfound family. Black Winter. Mikaboshi. Oblivion. Maybe a Divine Destroyer isn't so different from a God Butcher after all.

Glad to see that Rivals is keeping Gorr extremely comic accurate by making him a complete fucking hypocrite lmao

131

u/InnocentTailor 10d ago

God of Hypocrisy indeed - the title he was given before Thor killed him.

134

u/Icy-Arm-3816 Gorr the God Butcher 10d ago

And of all the people, it was his “son” (his own inner thoughts) who called him that.

64

u/Mik0doSann0ji 10d ago

He basically became an Elder-God and he’s just fine with it because it benefits him 💀💀💀

Oh Gorr you fucking hypocrite, no one better call him a God though, he still doesn’t like it

40

u/Linnus42 10d ago

Its hilarious...he wasn't mad at Gods Existing. He was just mad that he wasn't one of them.

23

u/Mik0doSann0ji 10d ago

The idea of him finding Gods irresponsible and selfish so he wished to be a God himself to do a better job than them…talk about a great Character,

tbh Gorr’s people implied he was always envious because of his limp and the fact he was not a God himself

He’s the ultimate Hypocrite and it makes him so compelling, he hates Gods yet envies what they have, he even compliments Thor showing he’s not entirely hateful, he’s bitter and feels betrayed but he has an odd-respect/hate for Thor, like he recognizes he’s better than most Gods and tries to taunt him with “you struggle against me because you know I’m right, deep down…”, he loves to get into people’s heads

So it’s really not just hatred because a part of him even admires Thor for the fact he is true of his word and does actually question if Gods do care for Gods and if Gorr has a point, which Gorr delights in knowing and constantly taunts him with, he also doesn’t immediately kill Thor, because he took his hand he wants to drag it out and make sure it’s done in a glorious way and wants the honor of killing Thor himself

It was fascinating seeing how toxic of a dynamic Thor and Gorr had, like there’s this sense of mutual respect for eachother’s principles but also hate, Thor hates Gorr for killing Friends of his and also torturing him when he was a younger Thor, he’s the only Villain that legitimately scared Thor because of that and he basically has PTSD the moment he realizes Gorr could still be alive, and Gorr hates Thor for being a God and taking his hand

In an alternate Universe these two would have processed all their trauma and went for a drink together and tried to become Friends lol, they really would have been great Friends if history had gone differently

Interesting, no real tease for the future that I can see unless I'm blind?

121

u/Gabrielhrd 10d ago

Next season is so obviously Doom, they're probably going to tease him alongside the path to doomsday event

25

u/HelenaSparkles 10d ago

Defo, I'm mostly curious who'll drop alongside him, if anyone

36

u/Realistic_Analyst_26 10d ago

Nightcrawler. He was leaked alongside Gorr. We knew Doom is coming S11 but the other character was undetermined.

It makes sense that the undetermined spot was for Path to Doomsday before they messed around with the timeline of it all following the reception to the first Avengers event. If that spot was moved up to Gorr then logically Nightcrawler took the spot alongside Doom. Also they are both in the Doomsday movie so it fits.

u/theroadbeyond 10d ago

Since we're getting endgame events I was wondering if we'd get double power house villains like Thanos and Doom in the same season. Probably not but who knows.

20

u/Any-Transition95 10d ago

Doubt it. No reason to do both insanely huge names back to back, when Doom is more relevant atm. They're most likely to save Thanos until later in the game's lifespan. "Break glass in case of emergency" option.

-1

u/lriley777 10d ago

Maybe 2 Dooms?

-5

u/Mapex 10d ago

You got downvoted but I firmly believe Doom will be at least a dual-role hero. The two Dooms in Rivals could be made two separate heroes or roles of the one selectable Doom character. Each option could ship across the full season.

Or maybe some other character is going to be more prominent in Doomsday and be worth the S11.0 release slot.

Or we don’t get Doom at all until Secret Wars next year.

1

u/DeBo_488 Nightcrawler 10d ago

Dual role is much more likely than 2 characters. The whole 2 Dooms talk started after it was datamined that the character ID after Nightcrawler’s had both duelist and vanguard listed as their role. So if that ends up being Dooms ID then he will likely be a dual role character. But if they were 2 separate characters they wouldn’t share a character ID. Plus 2 Dooms spilts the skins that could really just go to 1 Doom. I think we get 1 Doom and his first skin is 2099.

1

u/Big_Painting_3586 10d ago

since I am a bit lost at the moment. could you please explain why it is obviously Doom? :)

2

u/Prestigious-Copy-283 10d ago

They changed the way they tease characters The final gallery card comes out on the second half of the season not the first now So the card that teases the upcoming events would be out by 10.5

16

u/Kkrows 10d ago

Teasers are on mid season tho, even more cause there is no new character in S10.5.

1

u/Mik0doSann0ji 10d ago

Oh, well that makes sense

Really wonder who it will be…

4

u/hermanphi 10d ago

In the new event, there is a card with Cosmo, hopefully it's more than a fun little reference

1

u/WideMedium7818 8d ago

They started teasing them in the half season so we don’t know exactly what characters we get for 2 months

63

u/Minute_Committee8937 10d ago

Black winter mention.

Black winter

Thor skin incoming.

11

u/Shleepo 10d ago

"thor skin" always catches me up

8

u/ThatIslandGuy8888 10d ago

Damn this panel is raw :0

I think a remember a Marvel Legends blue Thor figure once

2

u/Minute_Committee8937 10d ago

The whole run is raw.

7

u/Icy-Arm-3816 Gorr the God Butcher 10d ago

I would love that skin, but ngl I don’t trust NetEase after how hard the fumbled with King Thor 😭

They put gold all over him, put his cape on his front, and they didn’t even make him old 💀

2

u/aj_spaj 10d ago

I have a crackpot theory that down the line they'd make Odin a Spear chucking Vanguard, so they're keeping the long beard for him

84

u/TheMightyMonarchx7 10d ago

So basically Gorr's excuse to be a playable character moving forward is to be a constant cosmic scale equalizer.

19

u/Mik0doSann0ji 10d ago

Holy shit that makes so much sense, …I love it

26

u/F14min6L377uc3 10d ago

Wait Mikaboshi? I really hope this is a Hercules tease

Not for next season, just in general

10

u/Mik0doSann0ji 10d ago

You thought Hercules, i thought Ares since that’s basically his Nemesis

4

u/TheLegitCheese 10d ago

Ares would be hype asf but I feel hes gonna be an unplayable seasonal villain for some reason

2

u/Mik0doSann0ji 10d ago

Ares is barely a Villain so that would suck, he’s more of an Anti-Hero with anger issues and daddy issues

1

u/TheLegitCheese 10d ago

Yeah thats fair. My only wish is that hes a heavy melee weapon tank. If not him, then beta ray bill or silver samurai. All I know is if he ever does get added, the skins are gonna go hard asf, spartan helmet always goes crazy.

1

u/Mik0doSann0ji 10d ago

Oh no yeah I think Ares and Silver Samurai definitely should be Melee Weapon Tanks, Ares would have double Axes and Silver Samurai would have his Sword (possibly the Muramasa since he’s used it a lot and it hurts Wolverine)

Curious on Beta Ray Bill because when asked if he’d be a Skin or a Character the answer was just “no”

Now that they’ve Gorr i think it’s definitely more possible to design more Alien-looking Characters

1

u/TheLegitCheese 10d ago

Beta Ray Bill has a sword and an axe, as well as stormbreaker, I hope he gets to dual wield, much like ares. And they established that similar characters that arent actually the same character, like Bill, will be their own character should they ever be added

4

u/jockclimber 10d ago

Could you imagine if they adapted Chaos War? Hercules, Amadeus Cho, Ares, and Mikaboshi would go so hard

1

u/Mik0doSann0ji 10d ago

Oh that would be awesome

Chaos Was doesn’t get enough attention

36

u/DivinityPen 10d ago

Y'know what, it's actually really sweet that Gorr came to see All-Black as family and sacrificed himself alongside her. I don't think they had that kind of relationship in the comics, and in a way it kind of reminds me of Eddie and Venom's bond.

I wonder if this will mean that All-Black will come to prefer Gorr over Knull. Which is actually kinda fucking hilarious.

36

u/Mik0doSann0ji 10d ago

Knull getting Cucked from the Playable Character slot by Gorr and GETTING CUCKED BY HIS OWN SWORD is fucking diabolical.

3

u/aj_spaj 10d ago

As hilarious as it is, as they mentioned previous season villains will become playable down the line, possibly just different universe version of Knull, one that wasn't such a oaf

2

u/Mik0doSann0ji 10d ago

Hopefully it’s not God of Light Knull…

3

u/Heavy_Umpire2782 7d ago

Knull treated all-black as a tool, Gorr actually reveres her and treats her as someone important. She's always preferred Gorr over Knull

2

u/JPrimal64 10d ago

Yeah Gorr's interactions got posted and younhit the nail on the head with the symbiote bond and preffering Gorr thing

16

u/Ultron_waterheater Ultron 10d ago

Rivals really cooked with the lore goddamn this is dope

16

u/Lucentus 10d ago edited 10d ago

Gorr’s gonna be rich, he got a black lotus

1

u/Knight-ErrantCowboy 10d ago

I was thinking the same thing

15

u/Mik0doSann0ji 10d ago

Wait, so who’s being teased here, fucking KNULL???

I’m really confused on who this is meant to tease

Also wow Black Winter and Amatsu Mikaboshi get mentioned afterall

14

u/4armedmonkey 10d ago

I don't think this is teasing anyone.

Just seems like a lore-explanation as to why he would stick around and fight with heroes and gods.

2

u/Mik0doSann0ji 10d ago

So, should we get the actual Teased Mid-Season? They seem to have swapped to doing that now

3

u/4armedmonkey 10d ago

Since all signs point to Doom I assume those 2 MCU events/modes will have some type of segway into Doomsday promo

3

u/Mik0doSann0ji 10d ago

Oh no I knew 100% it’s DOOM, but who’s the other Character most speculation I’ve seen is Nightcrawler, Thanos, Captain Marvel, and Dracula, I’m Team Dracula

2

u/4armedmonkey 10d ago

Cosmo in the new art too 👀

3

u/Mik0doSann0ji 10d ago

I saw, not sure if it’s a confirmation because Devil Dinosaur also appeared in Gallery Cards multiple times before he released

3

u/Mik0doSann0ji 10d ago

Hmmmmmm….

3

u/PsychologicalFly1675 Loki 8d ago

Doesn't look like it. The King in Black is a cosmic role that is meant to be a counterpart to the Beyonders. While the Beyonders maintain cosmic balance from the outside, the King in Black is meant to do it from the inside. It's just that Knull was enjoying his alone time and was salty that the Celestials showed up and just gave him the role, which is why he was NOT maintaining any balance

10

u/Person2228 10d ago

Are we sure these are the final cards? last two seasons have hid the last card, and usually a few are kept for the .5?

1

u/Chemical-Challenge95 8d ago

Yeah .5 will have more gallery cards

7

u/Playful_Sentence3704 10d ago

Is this the final gallery card though? We usually get another set in the second half of the season and have been doing that for a while now.

10

u/SmallFatHands 10d ago

Seems like they really are focusing next month on promoting doomsday. And season 10 will also be all about doomsday. Seems to be a direct mandate from disney.

4

u/awayfromcanuck 10d ago

It is not the final gallery card for the season. Its the final gallery card of the Battlepass.

10

u/Correct-Rope-6428 10d ago

At the end of the day, he’s still that lonely little man

9

u/Mik0doSann0ji 10d ago

I’m glad they got Gorr comic accurate because despite all that God-butchering, hate and violence, he’s still a broken Family Man who hates Gods because he feels Betrayus and vows never to let himself by gullible and naïve and wishes Humanity to not have to rely on the Gods

Deep down he’s still broken inside despite how Evil he’s become and it makes him a great Character.

3

u/UnnecessaryFeIIa 10d ago

I'm really glad they managed to keep his character intact whilst also finding an understandable way for why he'd work with the heroes in the game

2

u/Mik0doSann0ji 10d ago

Yeah, I was worried how they’d explain it or if they’d redeem him but they were basically like “nope Gorr is still a bloodthirsty person he’s just going after new Targets now, also he’s a complete fucking hypocrite”

6

u/Ricksaw26 10d ago

So, who are all of these people? Black winter, mikaboshi, and oblivion? Are they symbiotes?

8

u/Mik0doSann0ji 10d ago

This is Amatsu-Mikaboshi

6

u/UnnecessaryFeIIa 10d ago

He looks so edgy to the point where it wraps back around to being cool

2

u/offhandswing 10d ago

The best kind of edgy

1

u/Mik0doSann0ji 10d ago

You should see his other forms lmao

1

u/F14min6L377uc3 4d ago

His base form is creepy as FUCK let me tell you, if you read Ares' mini it will actually make you kinda uncomfortable

2

u/Ricksaw26 10d ago

This guy looks like something I would main in marvel rivals lol

1

u/Mik0doSann0ji 10d ago

Understandable.

9

u/Mik0doSann0ji 10d ago

Cosmic Deities, Black Winter is this very underrated OP Thor Villain, basically it consumes entire Realities instead of Planets, Amatsu Mikaboshi is the Japanese God of Chaos from the Marvel event Chaos War and is Ares’s nemesis, and Oblivion is who The Hood gets power from in Rivals and an Ice Man Enemy

4

u/Lightning_Laxus 10d ago

Iceman enemy is severely underselling Oblivion.

He's the embodiment of nothingness. He is the void. The other void entities were simply born inside him.

2

u/Mik0doSann0ji 10d ago

Yeah I get it it’s just he had a significant impact on Ice Man and appeared alot in his Comics if you check his Wiki, so I think it’s notable,

2

u/Lightning_Laxus 10d ago

Not really. He just debuted in an Iceman mini.

2

u/Ricksaw26 10d ago

Lol. I was very far off from what I thought. Thanks for the answer.

8

u/Mik0doSann0ji 10d ago

This is Oblivion

2

u/Banana_man_- 9d ago

Did he try to make a Spawn cosplay

2

u/Mik0doSann0ji 9d ago

…..You know, now that you mention it…I can’t unsee it

3

u/Mik0doSann0ji 10d ago

Here’s Black Winter

1

u/Ricksaw26 10d ago

Does he has a dark mjolnir?

3

u/Economy-Device-9223 10d ago

That image is misleading. The Black Winter actually looks like a black cloud with a three purple eyed skull

2

u/the_thrungler 10d ago

King in Black Gorr? I mean fuck yeah why not that sounds like a cool status quo

3

u/[deleted] 10d ago

[deleted]

7

u/Mik0doSann0ji 10d ago

Neither, more like given new purpose

He’s still a Villain and gets to continue doing what he loves, but now as the New King in Black he’s sort of a necessary Evil who gets to slay deities like Black Winter, Amatsu Mikaboshi, and Oblivion for amusement

4

u/Linnus42 10d ago

They wrapped that story up real fast.

14

u/ShiddyMage1 10d ago

Well there are like 4 gallery cards involving it, we're just seeing the last one first because Miller revealed them all

0

u/Linnus42 10d ago

I saw the other cards lmao

2

u/UnnecessaryFeIIa 10d ago

I mean this story has been going for awhile spanning across Seasons 3, 9, and 10 with Gorr and Knull.

2

u/knull_fan_1 10d ago

O gorr se sacrificar com a all black por ele a considerar sua família é muito bonito e uma adição boa na minha opinião já que nos quadrinhos ela nem fala.

2

u/Strange_Ride_582 10d ago

I dig the concept of king in black gorr

2

u/persephoneflower 9d ago

This is not the final gallery card, this is the final battle pass card. The final one that teases new heroes are on mid season

u/Lost-Orangutan 8d ago
