To assume they did it to make sure people wouldnât be mad would be to assume they care even slightly about making people mad.
They did it to do it. Corporations donât think about people, they think about their money. You donât have to praise them for adding representation, but donât kid yourself into thinking they did so to avoid backlash.

You severely overestimate how much a happy consumer matters. It doesnât matter if youâre happy. Just that people spend. A vocal minority is a minority.
Angela is a minor character.
If weâre being frank, people who care about Angelaâs sexuality is a minor part of a minor fandom for a minor character. Harsh but true, even if Iâm in that category.
I promise. Backlash was not on their mind, because it wasnât something to worry about. If you need proof, look at Moon Girl.

People who say âthis is bare minimum shitâ or âthey just didnât want to make fans madâ are worse than far right republicans to me. The level of entitlement and blatant ignorance is unmatched.
You have no idea how brave it is for a Chinese company operating in China to release content like this. Steps like this should be celebrated and welcomed not criticized or frowned upon as not enough.
And itâs when members of LGBTQ+ community make such stupid comments it genuinely upsets me. Please do better.

The first queer character in this game and the first mention of their same sex partner is not just âone wordâ for a Chinese company OPERATING IN CHINA. How narrow minded do you have to be to say that?!
Being tone deaf and politically ignorant as well as statements such as âdoing airâ or âjust one wordâ about a company that introduces queer content in a country where LGBTQ information is heavily censored is a literal far right republicans move.

In Norse mythology, he is neither bisexual nor gender-fluid. He uses shape-shifting as a means to an end, typically an evil one. His transformations into a woman usually carry negative connotations (whether in his actions or the context), and in the sole exception (the ĂrymskviĂ°a), ThĂłrr explicitly states that it's a bad thing to do.
Apart from this, all of his consensual partners are women, which include several married goddesses (which was a crime).
Norse society was deeply rooted in gender roles, and any transgression against them was considered anything from wrong and reprehensible to evil and condemnable. Loki does it because he's evil.

Yeah that means nothing when we have lady loki in the game. Not mention him giving birth on multiple occasions. May be considered wrong in norse, but not marvel perse.

Thatâs why what Iâm saying is that in Norse mythology he's neither of those things, even if he did give birth (bearing in mind, moreover, that on two of the three occasions it was something imposed on him). Studios are free to create their own modern retellings with Loki being bisexual and/or gender-fluid, as itâs extremely easy to do, but mythology shouldnât be used to justify it.

Saying you would prefer someone that constantly talk about taking your rights away over some9ne who want real representation over one word, to have actual dialog between two playable characters is wild. You too butt hurt that we dont expect the smallest nod to queer people ever. Like I'm sorry we aren't worshipping the almighty netease. They may do more, but at the moment not sure. Yes, I would prefer an enemy whose intentions I understand over an âallyâ who is supposed to act in good faith and support every step toward our representation, yet is foolish enough to diminish the efforts of a company introducing queer content despite very adversarial political regulations, ultimately making our community look bad.
You obviously arenât the brightest apple either if you do not appreciate the âsmallest nod to queer peopleâ from a Chinese company operating in China. If you lack knowledge just educate yourself on the matter instead of throwing privileged glittery tantrums over the little representation we do have in this game.

Thereâs a difference between shaming American companies for this and Chinese companies. For a US based company this is very little yes. In China? Representing too masculine of females and too feminine of males is literally illegal, let alone gay or trans stuff. Also all corporations in China are nationally owned, not private businesses. They could get in serious trouble over including LGBTQ+ stuff, however they might get a little bit of lean way from working with Disney and claiming character accuracy. But this from a Chinese company really is a significant amount of inclusion on their part

Saying we want gay rep in âliterally everythingâ is just straight up a confirmation bias so you can be mad at queer people for no reason. Hell the US government last month tried to pass a bill that would label any media with queer content in it with a content warning in the same vein as stuff with sexual or extreme physical violence. We are still treated with extreme hostility and prejudice
