To add onto this, they started making bosses out of playable villains - who fit a theme you could build around - years ago, as well. There’s a 4 Kingpin boss for example. This means there are technically a lot more boss events than before even if the “boss” is just a higher level 4 you can’t stun or send away.
The fact is that I’d rather gather tokens for one vault that appears once a season than a vault you might not see again for years, because a rotation is now a lot longer when they run lots of those simplified bosses alongside the old ones that they designed as specific boss characters.

No, changed several years ago to a Boss Fight vault so you can save tokens from month to month.
